Hyatt Select Richmond Chester

Solid hotel. Enjoyed my stay. Only criticism is the breakfast is really lackluster given the price. I've had way better breakfasts at much much cheaper hotels.

Stopped by the new Hyatt Select while I was road tripping in the area and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was absolutely amazing - so incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were VERY clean and spacious and had everything you needed (including a microwave) and I really felt the renovation was great! I also really enjoyed the new limited breakfast. While there wasn't cereal and bacon, they did have super amazing egg bites and tasty waffles! Food really felt fresh and like real food! Would highly recommend this property to anyone in the area who needs a comfortable bed and room along with competent, kind staff. pro tip: if you are a Hyatt member, this new renovation turned a previous Hyatt Place to a Hyatt Select, which is a new brand and will count towards your Brand Explorer reward.

Location was convenient on 295 after Richmond and before Petersburg; but the hotel experience was sub-par and I would have expected more from a Hyatt. Had to wait unnecessarily long for a receptionist at check in and check out.

Hyatt Select Chester is about a 20-minute drive from Richmond airport, RIC and located in Chester. The hotel offers complimentary parking and are next to both restaurants and shopping.The hotel has a nice and bright lobby with a breakfast hall, and has a small gym and an outdoor pool. The rooms are nice and big and are well planned especially for longer stays. Whilst there is complimentary breakfast, it is quite limited and if you are looking for a steady breakfast then you might have to look elsewhere. Service is nice and friendly and it's a quiet location to explore the area from.

I picked this hotel because it stated on the website that there was a restaurant/bar at the hotel and there was not. I took screenshot of all of this while booking the room. I was supposed to have a suite, but didn't get one. A friend had a suite & my room was definitely not a suite. No wet bar by the microwave & coffee pot. If you wanted water, you had to use the sink that we used for personal hygiene. The breakfast was bottom of the barrel & so gross that we ended up going to McDonalds to eat. Trash cans did not have liners, a large hole in the wall, debris on the floor. The plunger on the bath spigot would not push down to let the water come out; the water would only come out of the shower head. Bathroom so small you could barely turn around in it & didn't have a place to set your clothes etc. while you showered. No sink in the bathroom & had to do personal hygiene activities with zero privacy. This was definitely not worthy of the $200 plus per night that I paid! We also left with awful itchy rash spots!

Perfect for a short getaway — clean, quiet, and excellent service.

Tevon working the front desk did a great job helping me with my reservation. Everytime I left the hotel he made sure I was OK and asked if I needed anything.

Understandable that hotels need repairs but parking lot and inside getting updates. Didn’t think full price was necessary. Funky smell in elevator and room. Breakfast sub par and fire alarm went off at 4:30…

The room smelled. The sofa was falling apart. The air conditioner vibrating all night long. The shower worked. The refrigerator smelled. Obviously the whole place. Needs to be cleaned.
