Hyatt Select Richmond Chester

I was very disappointed with my stay at Hyatt Place Richmond/Chester. The hotel was in poor condition overall, with construction taking place throughout the property—something we were never informed about beforehand, despite being charged full price. The hallways and rooms had an unpleasant smell, which made the entire stay uncomfortable. On top of that, basic service was lacking. The phone in my room didn’t work, and when I called the front desk from my cell phone to ask for towels, I was told to come downstairs to get them, even after explaining I was already in pajamas. This interaction felt very dismissive and unprofessional. Breakfast was equally disappointing, with limited and low-quality options, barely warm items, and a cramped, uncomfortable dining area. Altogether, the experience felt far below the standard I expect from Hyatt, and I will be hesitant to book with this brand in the future.

good breakfast, good location

house keeping every three days ran out of toilet paper, towels . garbage can full. Asked to use a conference room for two hours for a pizza party for the softball team and familys and was told the cost would be $500 for a room that was not being used.

Bathroom dated. Housekeeping did not come and we were told we needed to be there for 3 nights for cleaning. Major construction so no lobby. Would have picked another place had I known. Room itself was spacious and well laid out but the hotel was missing some care and attention

This was by far tge bedt stsy ive had away from hone. My son and i attended services in Petersburg but stayed here. The immediate look when we entered the room was comforting. There were a few gairs in ge shower, but that was exscusable. The room is set up like a studio apartment and room semi-divider. Stainkess steel ice bucket with glasses not paper cups. Ceramic coffee mugs for hit beverages not paper. This was done so perfect! Front desk was very pleasing and polite. We were greeted coming and going! We will be returning! Cant wait for the pool to reopen!

Area is under construction and the pool was not opened which is why we booked here. If certain things are not available or working, they should not be advertised. Beds were comfortable and the staff we interacted with were nice.

The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff

The toilet was slow flowing like it was clogged. There was renovation going on and I think it could have been closed off a littel better. The breakfast eggs did not taste fresh
