Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel

The rooms were not properly cleaned, and the beds were in poor condition. Most concerning, the sheets and bedding did not appear to be clean, which made the stay uncomfortable and unpleasant. Cleanliness should be a top priority for any hotel, and I was deeply disappointed by the lack of attention to this basic standard. I hope management takes steps to improve the hygiene and overall upkeep of the rooms for future guests.

Plus: Great location directly at Luxor Corniche und walking distance to town center and Karnak temple. Very good breakfast buffet und tasty dinner options. Very attentive and friendly staff ! Minus: From foreigner perspective worn out bathroom equipment, dirty curtains and slow internet connection with many outages.

We last visited this hotel in September 2012 and we were delighted to find a lot of the staff who made our previous stay welcoming still there. Even after 12 years it felt like we were coming home. Ali, from guest relations remembered us and greeted us like family, taking care to ensure our room was the one we wanted. This friendly concern to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable was shown by all the staff we interacted with. Gigi, Salwa, Hussain, Manar at breakfast. Around the pool Ehab, Nubi and Zain are very attentive to ensure you are comfortable. Mostafa offers you coffee and other drinks at prices well below what you would pay in the UK. It is the staff who make you want to revisit the hotel. The buffet breakfast caters for most tastes but do not expect to get a full English. The pool restaurant, including bar, provides a variety of light lunches at prices which will not break the bank. The hotel restaurant near the lobby offers a reasonable choice of dishes. A noticeable new addition is the gym and spa looking out over the garden and pool. However the table tennis table is no longer available, which we missed. Our room was clean and comfortable offering all the usual amenieties. What made the room so special was the view from the balcony overlooking the Nile and the West Bank of Luxor with the Valley of the King's as its backdrop. The hotel is situated adjacent to the modernised Corniche which now houses a lot more shops and restaurants alongside the river. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the view of Luxor Temple and because the avenue of the Sphinxes from Luxor Temple to Karnak Temple is now open it is no longer a short walk to the Souk or Temple square. The ferry across to the West Bank has also been relocated but thankfully it is still only a short walk along the corniche, now towards Karnak and not Luxor Temple. The ferry and motor boats are now located on the corniche opposite Luxor Museum. We still find the Eatabe Hotel is ideally placed for making the most of a visit to Luxor, whether it is for sightseeing, just relaxing by a pool, drink in hand and enjoying the wall to wall sushine or both.

Fantastic welcome at the Aracan Eatabe Hotel Luxor.Rooms overlooking Nile, and you could see the temple of Hatshepsut from the balcony. Food was 1st class and the staff were very friendly and couldn't do more to help you. Breakfast was excellent, don't miss the omelette cooked in front of you, and all the staff give you a 5 star service. Ali and Gigi, from customer relations, always had a welcome for us and asked about our day and whether their was anything they could do for us. Karnak and Luxor temples are within easy walking distance along with the mummification museum which is about 800metres away.Lots of boat rides available, and there is a ferry also close by that will take you across the Nile. We only stayed 7 nights but were sad to leave, and we're already planning to visit again. Thanks to everyone at the Aracan Eatabe for making our trip one to remember.

Excellent hotel

Staff are very tentative. Restaurant setting and facilities are below average. Breakfast is below average. Food quality very basic. Bathrooms and bedding poor. Pool area is ok. Hotel is really 2 star by European standards and I think price reflects that.

Cleanliness standards were very bad. Toilet had urine stains outside bowl that weren't cleared. Used towels were rehung without being replaced. Bedsheets were also not replaced. Wifi speed was 2mbps. Minifridge sometimes worked, sometimes did not. AC worked well. Hotel amenities like pool and gym looked fine. Breakfast was okay.
