Mountain View Inn Yreka CA

My family were headed to Oregon when a wilde fire closed the highway for a day. We booked a room online expecting to stay until the road reopened. Once there we saw what looked like transients drinking and smoking in the parking lot, (barefooted). I asked the manager if there were guests and without a word to me he spoke with them, pointing at my car, full of summer gear, and wife and kids and they shuffled off the property. When the manager came back in I told him that I don't think it would feel safe spending the night now. He said "fine, but you booked on line. No refunds." This place is terrible and I'm sure there is likely drug activity going on there. Not safe for one night.

It took forever for the room to cool down with the old air conditioning and I would recommend getting new flat screen TVs. The area was okay not really much to do considering I couldn't drive my truck.

I drove up to the office, and felt uncomfortable. I went in and checked in, clerk was pleasant. I was assigned s room number and given a key. I located my room, and there were individuals outside of my room door that looked very sketchy and scraggly. I felt very uncomfortable, turned my car around and went back into the office. I told the clerk I could not stay there because I was not comfortable. He gave me a credit and I left

A wonderful place to stay on a long-term or short-term visit. Very quiet and pleasant hotel. Pet friendly had a wonderful 9 month stay. The Owners are wonderful people. As well as the staff. I was glad to have stayed there and am more than willing to stay again

Bed sheets had no less than 5 different types of hair and other debris in between the layers of sheets and comforters. I know the bed spread is normally not changed in motels, but, I expect new and clean sheets to sleep on. The pillows cases were yellow stained also. I could overlook the low quality towels, out dated tv and stained carpet flooring but, the bedding is basic.

This place was not at all what I was expecting after reading the reviews. It was one of the most pleasant motel experiences I've had. I was just expecting to have a cheap place for my family to sleep. There was a microwave and refrigerator, as well as a coffee pot. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and super fast WiFi. Although I was shocked my all of the amenities that came with the room, what really got me was how friendly the owners were. My whole family genuinely felt welcomed. For the price, I highly recommend this place.

We requested a non smoking room. It was horribly smoke smell rid.

We checked in after a full day of driving, ready to settle in for a mediocre night of sleeping, but it was impossible. I'm no princess, but this was so bad, we ate the room fee and went to check into a chain motel down the street fir morw than 2x the price. First hint this wasn't going to work? The overwhelming smell of cigarette amoke in our "non-smoking" room. It wasn't even fresh smoke. This was years of build-up. (I should know, I smoke! But never inside because of this very thing.) The doors and bathroom light switch were gross. I don't even want to think about when they were last wiped down. The coffee maker had dried coffee drips outside and grounds inside. The ironing board apoeared to have been used to stoke a fire. Outside, old furniture and decor was piled up near the office and our room. All-in-all, the worst motel room I've ever seen.
