Nice quiet hotel - lovely location with dining room over looking the beach and also very near pedestrian area and marina with lots of restaurants

A relatively small hotel. Position right by beach and train the other side to Lisbon. Stylish interior , good quality food with lovely service,

This was not a five star experience. The hotel location and entrance is not pleasant. The hotel is by the train station and the beach so lots of unsavoury characters around. We checked in and reception asked if we wanted a table for lunch - We said we did and they said they could book. We dropped our bags upstairs and went to the restaurant. I asked for our table and said we had booked. The manager said you didn’t book with me and I said no we booked with reception. The reply was so rude I was taken aback. He replied « are reception going to come and serve you then? » - unacceptable. The service overall was not what I would expect at all. Breakfast was good but we were not offered the opportunity to order à la carte items. The beach that sits below the pool area is a real problem. On two of the three days we were there it was filled with rowdy teenagers playing loud music which meant we could not enjoy the pool area. On the first day we were there a brawl broke out with a bunch of teenagers having a fist fight. A girl tried to help and was punched in the face. I asked the hotel to call the police. My daughter was so upset we had to leave the pool. Overall the experience was disappointing. The room we slept in was very nice.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was light and airy and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel was great and the view from the terrace was beautiful. There was free car parking at the hotel which was much appreciated
