I booked a room for 3 nights at SURFSIDE through orbitz. HOWEVER, upon check in I was informed that surfside was full, so they put us at Majestic Sun, which was next door. So not what we expected. Called Orbitz, of course they blamed the hotel so needless to say, we were charged $327 for a surfside room, and we actually got a HUGE step-down in quality to a majestic sun room & was charged the same price. Next time, I recommed to skip booking through Orbitz and contact the hotel directly. This was a horrible experience.
The stay was fabulous and I am looking forward to next year. I loved all of the pool, the exercise room the walkway to the beach, the wonderful view. The location was perfect. I couldn't ask for more.
We had a great vacation at Surfside Resort! The view from our balcony was breathtaking and very relaxing. There is a bridge to the beach, which made it alot easier with small children. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We recieved several coupons when we arrived, so we got to take the kids on a "Nemo" fishing boat and they actually caught fish! We also went snorkling, kayaking and even went on a dolphin cruise. We would not have been able to afford all of that without the coupons. We had a great time. Would definately plan on returning.
This was a clean hotel. One instance that was strange was that we ran out of toilet paper and the front desk told us that we needed to bring our own, apparently that person didn't know the rules. We had a room right by the elevators which was a bit noisy at night, however the view was amazing. I think it must have been spring break for high school kids which was a bit annoying at times due to the fact a lot of them were drinking, yelling, and screaming late at night.
Hotel was in great location. Rooms were spacious and clean. The only negative was the parking for check-in and check-out. It was a circle roundabout one way direction and if you were just wanted to go to the parking deck you still had to drive through the roundabout to get to parking deck. There should be a separate entrance from check-in.
I was quite impressed to find this wonderful Condo even nicer than it looked on the website. Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors throughout to bring in the ocean sound and breeze was an added delight. Clean, clean, clean. What an enjoyable trip.
Great resort w/ skywalk access to beach. Impressed!!
