Surfside Resort

Everything was great about this hotel. It is a little different because it is a resort not a normal hotel. Therefore maids come when your stay is up and not before. This was not a problem for me as I had plenty of towels and no need for a room clean up everyday. The hotel was amazing. The view could not be beat as it overlooks the ocean. There is a great ramp walk way that goes from the pool/outside bar area over the busy street to lead to another on the beach bar and great access to the beach. The bar tenders were pro. The in hotel Crab restaurant was amazing and had great food and happy hour specials including fresh oysters steamed or not $5 for 12. Every Saturday is a fresh crayfish boil shipping in from Louisiana to the beachside bar. I will be back soon.

The room was beachfront and the view was fabulous. Plenty of parking, many nearby restaurants, and of course the beach across the street. Room was quiet until the last day ( empty unit next to us ). Did wonder why drinks at the beach bar were $1 higher on Monday than the rest of the week ( and price not related to Memorial Day Weekend ). But, regardless, we would definitely return. People were friendly, particularly residents of the building. Staff was helpful and courteous.

it is *not* a hotel. So you will not be able to checkin at the location. You will be guided on a wild goose hunt to located your key, parking permit, and spam. Once you realize it is ResortQuest... I will never use them nor stay at this location again. To top it off the light fixture was hanging by wires... The neighbors were so loud at 2:00 am we had to call the police since ResortQuest can not do anything about it. I enjoy Destin, Seaside, and the area but I will never stay here or use ResortQuest again. A total sham.. Oh and while they advertised a moderate rate they added an $80 cleaning fee. There was no room service or maid services so that cleaning fee must be after we leave.. I should have stayed at Embassy or Marriott or any one of the actual resorts... this is *not* a resort....

The view was beautiful! However, the check in was at a different location which was an inconvenience. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, however they were limited as the property management was the contact for any problems. Some of the basic items a hotel should have (ex. hair dryer) we had to purchase ourselves. The DVD rental machine was not working and we had a free coupon which we could not use. Overall, the experience was okay.

Stayed in 1112 and 1112A this August and last summer. Our family had a great time, with great amenities, spacious rooms, well equipped, comfortable beds, easy shopping and the best beach and beach facilities.

The room was very clean and we had a great view of the ocean. People were very nice. The hotel was not far from shopping or places to eat. We just had to cross a small street to get to the beach and the beach was very clean. I will definitely try and go back next year. My family and I had an amazing time, even my one year old enjoyed the beach and playing in the water.

I cannot begin to express how extremely satisfied and impressed I was with the property and location! I can't believe this was only rated 3 stars! I just happen to stumble upon a pretty good deal on Expedia for this property, so I said why not? I rented one of the resort's timeshare units, which was very beautiful, clean, and had every amenity and luxury that was necessary. There was a beautiful wraparound balcony, to which every room had access, so I was able to walk out and enjoy the fresh air. The resort was directly on the beach (had to cross a small street, but that was it) and had its own private access to the beach. The property was also less than 2 minutes from the outlet center, grocery stores and restaurants. My cousin and I were able to walk to the grocery store, which was very enjoyable. It ended up being rainy and cloudy for the duration of the trip, but we so enjoyed our temporary "living space" so much that we hardly noticed. The only negative thing I could say is that there seemed to be construction going on at another resort next door, which was slightly annoying. On our last night, we had dinner in the resort restaurant, which had very good seafood and choices, and was not too pricey. My cousin and I enjoyed it so much that we are planning an extended family trip back to Destin--and the Surfside Resort!

Will definitely be back again.

We were so excited about the trip. After spending so much money, we did not get any service. We had issue with the tiles and customer service did not bother to address it. Tiles were wet as if water is leaking. My kids were about to fall few times. Hotel management did nothing. Location was good. beach was good. Hotel is bad. They did not even provide free chairs in the beach like other hotels there.
