La Jolla Cove Suites

Major reno until late 2027 at least - website says "little refresh"... Tiny rooms - with regard to "signature king" room webiste says "some rooms have a queen"... it will definitely be downgraded to queen, and barley walkable.

I was given a room next to the stairs to a rooftop where a wedding was held. The noise did not stop till almost 11:45 pm (although I was told all would be done by 10 pm). I was warned about construction noise (which was bad). The parking was displaced (valet only due to construction) but the sidewalks to the valet were pitch black and hard to walk on at night.

Great views. Valet is really not great . Waited to get car for over 20-30 minutes. No ice machines had to go down to get ice in little bucket . Over all great spot.

The hotel was under construction with no warning during our booking process. We were very excited to use our balcony but couldnt because this faced the construction. The noise level was loud beginning at 7am which is very frustrating for parents who are escaping their kids to have peaceful mornings to only be awoken by construction noises and workers. Had we been given noticed about this at time of booking, this wouldnt have felt as daunting so then we could make the decision if we were OK with this or not. The hotel controls the air conditioning so we are making ourselves crazy trying to turn it down and its not working until I called the front desk and they made the adjustment with the maintenance team. Unfortunately this did not last all night and we woke up in a puddle of sweat at 2am. Finally, the website is deceiving with the rooftop lounge because it is only reserved for private parties and not just average hotel guests. The pool is a part of the "old section" of the hotel and is not convenient to get to and is run down.

The hotel is right on La Jolla cove with excellent views and easy access across the street to the cove and the seals and beach area

The hotel is undergoing major construction. Access to the pool is difficult. Parking is off site and you have to pay $45 even though the description stated parking on site and part of the deal. The view was seriously interrupted by huge construction vehicles and cranes and the noise started early. We dod not pay $460 for this!!!

Fantastic Experience! We have been coming here since 1983 and it's always been great. Walking distance to all you need, close to the ocean and seal beach. Personnel are always kind, courteous, and understanding. If you have an issue, it's taken care of immediately. The Pines is a wonderful example of total leisure. Highly recommended.

Wedding receptions next to our rooms was very loud and hard to sleep. We loved the view and location but was hard to get some good sleep. Also hard to get to the pool and hot tub. Had to walk around the outside of the hotel and climb several flight of stairs. Dark with hardly any lights at night.
