Hyatt House San Diego Sorrento Mesa

We (family of four) stayed for 3 nights in a one bedroom suite. The room was spacious and we really loved it for it's size and layout! However, the room and the hotel as a whole definitely showed some wear and tear. The hotel is dated and could use some TLC. But overall we really enjoyed our stay. There is free breakfast 7 days a week (I saw a review saying there was no breakfast on weekends but that's not true). The breakfast is slightly different each day and we really enjoyed it. It gets pretty busy about 1 hour before breakfast closes but any other time it was fine. There is a pool that is heated that my son loved. Even though it was technically heated it still felt way too cold for me - so just keep that in mind depending on when you visit. The room is only serviced every other day with a towel refresh they make the bed. We asked for an extra blanket and pillow and they brought it right away. Parking is free and the lot and surrounding area felt very safe. There is also coin laundry on site. There aren't any attractions close to the hotel, but you can get to most of the popular attractions and tourist areas (San Diego zoo, La Jolla, USS Midway, Pacific Beach, downtown, etc.) in 15 to 20 minutes. I would recommend this hotel for a value conscious family.

Free parking would be appreciated, while not located in city center.

I love the location of this hotel. Everything is around the area, good restaurants, boba place, also close to theme parks. It was our first time staying here and the stay was good. My son loved it. The bed was very comfortable, I wanted to sleep in most of the time if we didn't have agenda daily. The only down side is the pull out bed. It was springy and the bed seemed thin you can feel the springs when you sit or lay down. The elevator also took a while. Those are the only down side I noticed. However, over all stay was great. The breakfast was good and I loved how they also have rice added (plus for my kids, they love rice!). Every day the breakfast has a different menu, from pancakes, to waffles, to French toast or potato wedges, tater tots and so on It was great! The room was very clean, no complaints about it. Service was fast. If you want a turn down service, there's a QR code to request for one.

Rooms were outdated, not much light in the rooms, pillows were not comfortable, ice machines were outside.. location was ok

Hyatt House is definitely awesome

I definitely didn't appreciate that I was given a room not only was that it was on the 1st floor (Suite) shoved in the corner (#176) but right next to the pet area (Poop) 😟 it broke my heart as I paid decent $$$ for mediocre service 🤷‍♂️

The hotel was better than we expected. We had a clean room, comfortable bed, great breakfast, good location, and nice outdoor seating.

Had some issues with the bathroom door, in the unit. It does not close smoothly.

My suite was very spacious with a full kitchen/dining area, living area, bedroom and bathroom. The bed was comfortable although VERY soft (to the point it was hard to get out of). I was here for a week and it was quite restful. The workout room was nicely appointed. There's a nice fire pit outside, and an outdoor pool, but I really wished there was a hot tub. The location was convenient if you had a car - quite close to both the Torrey Pines and La Jolla areas, and the Westfield outdoor mall. However, it is not in a pedestrian friendly area.
