2500 Penn, a Placemakr Experience

La ubicación es buena. La habitación mala.

La habitación vieja. Baño con problemas en la ducha. Es muy caro para lo que ofrece. La hora de late check out vale US$50. Una locura a nivel mundial. Malo el hotel.

Location

The room smelled of cigarette smoke and people were smoking pot down the hallway. The room also did not look as it did in the pictures on booking.com. It was not very clean, and I feel that it was way overpriced from what we had expected. I would compare this hotel to a Motel 6 level. The bed was horrible.

Location is fabulous. Kitchen is a game changer when traveling with a family, plus Trader Joe’s across the street!

La ubicación, un barrio histórico tranquilo y a la vez con mucha vida. Georgetown es precioso y muy bien ubicado. El metro y el bus muy cerca Teníamos cafetera en la habitación, además de microondas y nevera. El personal encantador

Nothing

The location is a huge plus - it is less than 10mins away from the metro. And similarly from a bustling Georgetown. The price for this location was really good as well. And they were really nice and stored the baggage for free on the last day when our flight was in the evening so we could enjoy almost a full day of the city. There are a couple of grocery stores - one across the road and a bigger Whole Foods next to the metro station. And a 7-eleven nearby as well. There was never an issue with any noise, which was great to help recharge after a long day of walking around the city.

The kitchen and the shower are a bit dated. Everything is in order and works, just a bit old. The bar was closed for the duration of our stay and it is unclear if/when it will reopen

Loved the staff, very friendly and accommodating, especially when someone was very loud next door. They made every attempt to help and apologized, which made us feel cared for. Loved having a kitchen, being close to metro, being near the rest of our group/on the same floor. Having a large area on the patio to eat together was AWESOME! Having a water station was great, but recommend spreading out water bottle fills so the reservoir doesn't run out. Being able to stay in a condo with some comforts of home was great! Close to good breakfast places and coffee was also appreciated. Trader Joes is literally across the street and was a huge money saver for many packed lunches. Papa Johns Pizza right across the street and other choices of restaurants was a plus! Being in walking distance to Georgetown was a huge hit as well! Very close to so many fun activities made the trip so fun! We stayed with a group of 30 people 4 to a room and am so grateful to have found 2500 Penn as it fit all our needs and was still in our price range. We also were able to store our luggage so we could explore more Smithsonians on our last day, which was greatly appreciated. The area also felt very safe and clean. We had no problem letting our high schoolers walk to Georgetown on their own, which they loved.

The building needs maintenance and repair. There were many cosmetic things that needed attending to; peeling paint, old appliances, stains on couches, dirty carpet, no lights on the patio which could have made our trip so much more fun as we liked to play cards and visit outside at night with our group. The wifi was not working properly for many of us the whole trip. This didn't affect me personally but I think it could for someone who really needed it. All that said, everything for the most part was functional which is what mattered most for our group.
