Aston At Poipu Kai

No air conditioning available, old style villa, poor customer service would not refill coffee, creamer and sugar.

We had an awesome trip with a group of friends. Condo was comfortable and had a beautiful view. It was a girls getaway. The accommodations were perfect.

Room was clean, location was perfect for us, and the staff was efficient and very accomodating.

No AC in the condo - when the listing on Booking.com stated AC in rooms. I wasn't aware that Poipu Kai had so many different resorts together -- would have been nice to be able to choose which one.

First great location!!! The grounds of the property extends to face the water and at sunset, you can walk out and witness the magnificence. You can walk to Poipu beach from there and then your relaxation begins. It is also within walking/ short drive distance to Poipu restaurants, mall and all that Poipu has to offer! The decor and facility may be a bit dated but it is very well maintained and cleaned. The folks who work there are friendly and courteous. Overall recommend!

Our room was exactly we needed. Bed, shower, kitchen, washer, and dryer, lanai. And it was close to the pool and walking distance to the beach!!!

The Aston at Poipu Kai Kauai was a downright terrible experience. When my boyfriend and I arrived at the front desk we were asked to sign a contract that stated we would be charged an additional $180 cleaning fee to the room even though the reservation/booking contract never stated that and I had paid in full through a 3rd party booking site. When we asked about the charge the receptionist then printed out a final breakdown of all the charges which came to an additional $367 charge for a 2-night stay. Since this was nearly double what we had already paid, we said if this is the case we cannot stay here (it was wildly out of our budget). We made an ammendment to the contract in which the receptionist encouraged us to do and informed me that the manager will contact me on Monday and review the accuracy of my contract before charging my card an additional amount. The manager never called me on Monday and charged my account the additional $367. When I followed up on Thursday the receptionist, Kaysha, asked to see the contract, and when I sent it to her, she agreed that there was nothing in my contract that stated this and informed me the manager will call back when she could and couldn't guarantee a refund but assumed so. The manager never called back. So when I followed up on Friday, Kaysha told me I would have to ask for a refund from the 3rd party, even thought the 3rd party is not who charged me it was the Aston at Poipu Kai as a direct charge on my account. She finally agreed to transfer me to the manager who didn't answer and then when I called back they didn't answer. I would highly recommend only booking this place if you are financially equipped to pay double what you were expecting to pay. Not only is this illegal under the, Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees Act, it's also incredibly unethical and unfair to treat your guests this way.

Overall property was very clean and nice. Check in is at 4pm they leave at 430pm so you have to be on time for that. There a few things that could have fixed or updated. The particular one I stayed in was nice fitting to the island theme and clean. The master bathroom tub is super hard to turn on and the tub stopper did not work. Why do I care I ran a marathon and planned to soak afterwards. The blinds in the living room were damaged and instead of replacing they pulled them all the way to the top allowing you to see through the house. Not good on the first floor. No AC but it was cool enough at night to somewhat rest. Overall I would stay again.

Nice pools, beach was really close, well equiped kitchen, quiet resort

It's unacceptable that a place this expensive has AC only in the main room, and also, that AC is EXTREMELY noisy, making really hard to have a nice sleep, and also, rendering useless the sofa bed in the living room (our son couldn't have slept in there with the steady 30°C in the living room). Also, it's kind of disappointing that, despite of clearly stating 3 guests, they only provided beach towels for 2. Finally, although the pools are really nice, it's kind of disappointing that none of the provided keys worked to enter those pools, and we have to end up asking other people to let us in (fortunately there was always people in there). And the fact the front desk closes as early as 4:30PM is also surprising.
