Golden Hill Inn-Danbury

Older property that has been nicely updated. New electrical and plumbing and paint. Not luxurious but comfortable. Very clean. Friendly staff at check in. She even gave me a compliment. Property is up on a hill and overlooks the street and highway.

No coffee maker. There was a little mold looking spots in the call around the tub. I do know that this can stain. Mine is the same way. Highway noise outside but couldn’t hear it inside.

No kleenex in the room, no hand towel or extra towels, no lamp only overhead lights

There is a reason that this property rents forb17.5% less than other motels in the area (Expedia). First noise, you will be on the emergency vehicle pathway that parallels rt 84. The driveway in and out are dangerously steep and unsighted. There are no amenities, the “handicapped” room, while accessible from the parking area, had a bathtub and no handrails of any sort. There was a refrigerator that I had to shim up to stablize the machine and get the refrigerator door to open properly. A trip to the office was necessary to procure toilet paper. Only those stopping overnight on the way to somewhere else should take the cheaper rates offered by this motel.

Go dirty and ripped bath towels

Our room was very clean Just overhead lighting, no lamps. I couldn't get the hairdryer to work. Although the mattress was comfortable, The base of the bed was metal. The metal base made noise when you moved in bed. I would not stay again.

This family run motel is very clean and the buildings are maintained. It isn’t a five star resort but it’s an exceptional value for the price paid. I travel a lot and I’ll be back!
