Golden Hill Inn-Danbury

The room smelled very strongly of harsh cleaner or disinfectant when we arrived. It was so strong and unpleasant that we left our door open with the fan on for a while even though it was very hot and we would have preferred to close the door and put on the AC. The room was clean and fine otherwise, but that smell was very unpleasant. This hotel is okay for the price.

Clean and functional.

No breakfast. No coffee.

Location it was near my event which is convenient.

The towels were dirty and stained. The tub wasn’t cleaned properly when I stepped in it was slippery felt oily. There was no iron or board. I called office and they were kind to provide and iron and board. The bed was on a frame that made noise as you twist and turn. I requested no smoking and when I came back from my event my room had a cigarette stench.

The Golden Hill Inn is on a little hill, so the entrance and exit driveways are steep. Which is actually pretty cool! It overlooks a part of town, and there is a convenient store literally right across the street, which is great... but also it has a feeling like the Inn is a separate place, elevated and off by itself. The room was standard, modern, and clean. The staff was kind and helpful.

Customer services was appalling. Room was OK but bathroom dirty. Tv remote didn't work ..couldn't change tv what's so ever. Asked for another room which was better, then the heating had its own mind . In fairness ,they need re training on checking their rooms b4 and after customers are due to arrive .....

Easy, convenient, clean, fast and friendly check in and super easy check out.
