Proximity to the Detroit Institute of The Arts unsurpassed. If the DIA is your destination do not bother to stay anywhere else. 25 minutes LYFT to and from the airport you will not need a car. Neighbors include Wayne State University, The Center for Creative Studies, and The Detroit Public Library. Breakfast was awesome, eggs, sausage, berries, granola, cereals, yogurts, juices and coffee. Fill up at the INN and then have lunch at the DIA. It has a cafe and a cafeteria. Skip dinner and rest up for the second DIA visit. Recommend two days at the DIA, three nights on Ferry. One day before DIA with 3PM check in, one day after second follow up DIA visit. Checkout after breakfast.

"Inn on Ferry Street loses its appeal"

Recent reviews (2025) are correct: the Inn on Ferry Street is now filthy and run down. We have stayed at the Inn for 15+ years and are heartbroken to see this once-magnificent property in a deteriorated state. The Inn manager informed us that the property was acquired by and is now managed by Hilton. This seems hard to believe as the Hilton chain of hotels would never offer unsanitary and dilapidated lodging.
