The Inn on Ferry Street

Staff were very helpful, and kind. Location is wonderful.

Peeling paint on the bedroom wall. Room was labeled a 2 queen bed room when it should have been a queen and pull out.

The building and the property are beautiful!

We weren’t aware of the $15 parking fee, there wasn’t a remote for the TV in our room so we only had 1 channel to watch and it was a kids channel, the room and the common areas needed a good cleaning e.g. vacuumed and dusted. We found used Kleenex in our closet, candy on the floor, and debris all over the carpet in our room and on the stairwell. The furniture in the room although it was antique looking needs replaced or repaired. Nothing was functional.

It feels like you’ve been invited to stay with a friend in their family’s Victorian mansion. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, and the vibe is homey and casual. These historic old homes are nestled into a quiet, tree-lined street that is a mere five minute walk to the Detroit Institute of Art. We loved spending a busy day in downtown Detroit then returning to the serenity of the Inn. Slept like babies.

Room was cold, carpet worn, facilities need maintenance and renovation. Breakfast underwhelming. Staff person handling breakfast room soliciting tips from patrons. Overpriced for what was purported to be offered to customers. Booking,com told us we had reserved a room. When we arrived, booking.com had not conveyed our reservation to the Inn. Fortunately, they had another comparable room available. We were told by booking.com that there was only one room left in the inn. We found out when we arrived that there was more than one room available, and the parking lot was almost totally empty, suggesting that this was true.There were plenty of tables available at breakfast, confirming that booking.com had lied to us.

I have to agree with current reviews in that this property is showing signs of neglect. In our room the carpet was stained and seemingly dirty. Also fabric on chairs in our room and dining room were stained. While the buildings are lovely and impressive, I'm sure that there are many other places that are cleaner with more attention to detail in the Detroit area. We definitely would not return unless changes are made. (Note to self: check ratings BEFORE you book rather than AFTER!)

the 4 houses are all beautiful and interesting; the staff was extremely friendly & helpful, especially Julia & JoAnne on the weekend and Sheree at check-in.

Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Love the big old houses and their design. Breakfast is simple but always very good. Front desk staff always nice too. Like this place as I e now stayed in 3 of their 4 buildings.
