I stayed here during an interview for a position at Wayne State. The houses at this property are beautiful and the proximity to the university and various museums is really convenient. My room was comfortable and I appreciated the desk space which was spacious. The bathroom was a bit disappointing: no body wash or soap was provided for the shower so I had to keep moving the hand soap back and forth and the towels were old and thin. The water jug in the lobby of the house I was in (not the main house) was empty when I woke up for coffee and it wasn’t refilled before I had to leave. But the biggest issue was that with their new management they no longer offer breakfast on weekdays and only provide pastries on the weekend. None of the breakfast places nearby open before 9 am. This clearly wasn’t communicated with the people who booked the room at Wayne State. So I had to interview without breakfast, which was an awkward thing to communicate during the interview. They also didn’t communicate that the credit card that I provided for incidentals would also be used to cover miscellaneous fees (eg a destination fee and amenities fee). It wasn’t a large amount but it’s strange to charge these after the fact. Seems like miscommunication during the booking process.

Very disappointing. Apparently with the recent renovations they decided to reopen before completing the work. The temperature in the room was 78 degrees and higher, and the thermostat on the wall did not function, there were switches missing on the bottom of the thermostat. No way to reduce the temperature setting, but the thermostat was "programmable", however it had no effect, I doubt the thermostat was connected to anything. Ironically, there was a space heater provided. After determining there was no way to reduce the heat, I did manage to open two of the four windows with great difficulty, one only partially. We did not partake of the "continental breakfast" muffin offered, instead went to a local restaurant to d-get a decent breakfast. Would had a better experience at a typical budget chain hotel, and would have slept much better.

Lovely buildings. Easy parking. However our room had about 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper and the carpet was filthy.

When I first got there; there were several guests waiting outside to check-in as they could not get in the front door. I waited in the car and tried to call the hotel but there was no answer. Some of the guests went started walking to the side door and i asked what was happening and they told me the front door was locked and no one was answering the phone. Eventually, someone came to let them in the side door but by the time I got my luggage and came to check in the door was once again locked and i had to use the side door after knocking After checkin i was provided with my keys. I was 2 houses away and by the time i got to my room the key that was provided was not working. I attempted to call again the main hotel number from my cell phone and once again no answer. I had to then carry my luggage back 2 houses to the main lobby and was given 2 keys and the receptionist stated that one of them should work. (there was no offer to come with and ensure that it did). When i got to the room once again the first set did not work and I was pretty frustrated. The 2nd set did work luckily and i was able to get into my room.

Beautiful houses, very comfy beds and pillows. Everything was nice and clean. The breakfast was a nice touch. I appreciate they had on-site parking. Walking distance to bars/restaurants. Close to the Q line and the DIA.

We have stayed at the Inn on Ferry Street a few times and it has always been a pleasant place to stay. The rooms are clean and the ambience is wonderful.

Location perfect for walking to Wayne State and DIA. So nice to stay in a house with character.

Pillows were the weak link. As a side sleeper hotel pillows are always too soft or hard. Specific side sleeper pillows would be nice. I was really bothered to witness fall leaves being leaf blown and bagged in plastic. It was noisy and unnecessary. I urge the owners to shift to just mowing leaves in place to promote decomposition which will nourish trees and grass.
