Hampton Inn & Suites East Lansing

Very good condition

Pool didn't work, it was hard to get consistent heat on the room. I set it for 72 and still ended up with it being 66 overnight. The fan was extremely noisy and made it difficult to sleep. It also pumped out cool air.

Worst hotel experience ever. They advertise "newly renovated ", but they definitely did not put enough " lipstick on the pig". Nothing remotely indicating they remodeled this 1970s style building that still shows terrible wear and tear. Room was totally outdated and filthy, proven by the fact that I had white socks on and within 2 hours they were so dirty from the nasty carpet I had to throw them away. Mold all around the "newly remodeled " base of the shower. Wouldn't even put water in the refrigerator because it was full of mold and smelled terrible. I can't believe Hilton puts their name on this building that should be torn down. Never seen a Hampton Inn in such terrible shape, thank goodness. Warning, only stay here as a last resort. Total waste of money. Hilton, please step in and condemn this filthy excuse of a hotel, better off at Motel 6.

I was on a road trip with a friend of mine over a weekend in October 2025 and we spent a Friday night at this Hampton in Okemos. I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns and this one was okay, but it was definitely not one of the better Hamptons I've stayed at. The location was fine but the hotel was a bit hard to find from the road. (At one point I accidentally missed the turn to pull in... so I had to turn around come back. It didn't help, though, that it was nighttime when I was looking for the hotel.) Our check-in process went smoothly when we arrived on Friday night, and our room (#315) was clean and comfortable... no problem there. We slept pretty well, too, which was good. (It was quiet.) However, our bathroom shower was out of body wash which was kind of annoying. The hotel does have good amenities like the indoor pool and hot tub. We used the hot tub which was great... although the jets were not working which was unfortunate. In the morning, we considered having breakfast at the hotel but decided to go elsewhere. I can't stand the reconstituted scrambled eggs that a lot of hotels have... including this one. And unfortunately, there were no hard-boiled eggs so I didn't have that as an option. Don't get me wrong... this is a fine hotel and worthy of a 4-star rating. But it's an older property... and with the multiple disappointments, it just didn't live up to Hampton's normally high standards. The value just wasn't there for me.

When I moved the two "cubes" (small ottomans perhaps) in the living room, there was debris under both of them indicating that the carpet underneth was not vacuumed. Also, the Hot-Tub was cold.

Room was clean, lobby area was clean and breakfast was good

I have called around 6pm and notified them about my late arrival. I gave tentative arrival time midnight and we showed up at midnight. There was nobody at the front desk for 40 minutes. The phone rang off the hook. My family and I were tired after 10-hr trip and grew frustrated. Finally, at 12:40AM short black woman came to front desk. She was rude and wouldn't hear any complains. She gave me arrogant sermon and room keys. I couldn't sleep till 3:00AM. We feel that customers are not appreciated at that hotel. We will not stay there any time soon.
