Americas Best Value Inn Seward

When I arrived the room was filthy there was feces in the stool, the sink was inoperable with standing water in the sink. The night stand had some sort of liquid on it. Overall the room spelled of urine and feces. Jail cells would have been a more comfortable sleeping arrangement. Wouldn’t recommend unless fond of communicable diseases.

Clean comfortable rooms. TV worked, bed was comfortable, room big with lots of hanging space. Bathroom was clean, towels nice. AC was powerful. Ask for the two rooms at the top of the stairs, ie #140 & 141, as these had the above roomy layout. Breakfast was included, hot waffles, cold cereals, pre-packaged donuts. Coffee wasn’t great but oh well. It is across the street from a Walmart so I bought a lunch and ate at a nice picnic table on property. Lots of room to walk your dog or allow children to play. One could distantly hear the train but not disturbingly, added character to the hotel. It’s a five/ten min drive north of I-80 n cost $65-70, seemed expensive but maybe that is just the new market rate. I’ve done much worse n paid more. I recommend this hotel for a night or two.

I think the staff must have taken previous reviews to heart and made some improvements. We were passing through Seward on our way to Denver. It was July 4th so we decided to stay the night and watch fireworks. Sunset Inn and Suites was the only hotel we found in town close to the fireworks. It's a small town so I didn't expect much from this hotel; however, I was pleasantly surprised. While it is small and old it was very clean and everything worked just fine. The only thing that could be improved is the staff's knowledge of the area. We came for this huge July 4th festival but the gentleman that checked us in had never been there and couldn't give us any tips. Overall, we would stay here again if we take another road trip that way.
