Courtyard by Marriott Dayton Beavercreek

I have been trying to speak to someone about my experience since October including my frustration when I was unable to check in for my reservation, phone calls to the front desk at the hotel on the next two days, an online complaint to Marriott, and two phone calls to Marriott. I booked a room at this hotel on 9/20 for a two night stay from 10/4-10/6. I arrived with my friend close to midnight on 10/4. The young man at the desk first asked if two double beds would be OK. I said we would prefer two queens as that was what I had booked and we had another friend joining us the next night. He spent a few minutes on the computer apparently looking for a room for us when I spoke up and told him that two doubles would be fine if that was all that was available. He spent another few minutes on the computer before telling us he was sorry but he did not have a room for us. I clarified with him that he meant that did not have ANY rooms available for us. He confirmed. I asked how this could happen when I had booked two weeks ahead of time; he did not have an explanation and that I would have to call the next day to talk to a manager. He then simply suggested that I go to one of the neighboring hotels to see if they had any vacancy. He ensured me that he cancelled the reservation and that I would not be charged for my (attempted) stay. The following two days I called to speak to a manager but was told each day that one was not there. After the weekend, I returned home to normal life and frankly forgot about the experience temporarily. I then submitted my first online complaint on the Marriott website on 10/17. I did not hear anything back yet and then I received an email with a receipt on 10/20 for one night's stay due to my failure to cancel my reservation for 10/4. This was the first time that I contacted Marriott via phone. They said that they would send my complaint to two separate departments - the hotel manager and someone who would be able to refund me for charged night. I did receive my refund on 11/22 but still did not hear from hotel management. I did some additional traveling after Thanksgiving and then got busy with the holiday season. After the first of the year, I reached back out to Marriott via phone. I was told that they could see my case had been opened and closed several times without further explanation. It's been a couple of weeks again and no word. I could not figure out how to review the hotel directly on their site without a link of having been a recent guest so here we are. Hopefully someone will finally hear my complaint. I am usually loyal to Marriott but I definitely am not in a hurry to book with this Courtyard location again which is a shame as I visit the area at least yearly.

Clean & nice

I was told the hours of breakfast the night i checked in. The next morning, they said there was no complimentary breakfast. They told me the lady was new the night before. Even if she said that the hlurs were without the words complimentary, I think that is very misleading. I don't buy hotels without a free breakfast and if this was overlooked, your staff did nothing to help this situation. Just a sorry and No Courtyards have complimentary breakfast. This threw off the planning of my whole day. I had to leave right away. Go all the way home to eat and then go to my next destination. I was in the area with the hotel where I needed to go. You need a sign-no FREE breakfast. Be honest and upfront. It was not and I won't pay $140 a night for that experience. The fridge in our room was also broken.

Everything was great!

We were there for graduation and had a very nice time.
