Aspen Suites Anchorage Downtown

We had a room with a too-small round toilet seat on an oblong toilet. TV didn’t work right. Otherwise, it was ok for the money. Most of the staff was pleasant.

Do not use this trash hotel. They have not maintained it. The heat doesnt work. They handed us a space heater.. There are no towels and the furniture is trash. Like falling apart. You could see thru the door jam. No privacy. 150 a night What the Heck! We live in Alaska only a few hours away. There are way better options. This place is a joke and the peopel running say it corporate. Well shame on the owners. I will make sure everyone I know learns about how screwed up this dump is. Also FYI the free breakfast is a joke. Tiny muffins that were so dry it reminded me of cornbread. I took pictures for proof that the place was so messed up. I have stayed at one of these hotels in lower 48 so much nicer. This was a complete let down.Also no free wifi they want you to pay for that aswell.

Great staff. Hotel could use some modernization.

T.V. had a ding in the screen, notified staff so I wasnt to blame. Looked like dried blood spots on bathroom floor. Outlets not in a good place for plugging in devices and when tried to plug in they wouldn't hold the cord unless you bent a prong so it would apply pressure. Adverised a pool but it was closed with covers over windows and no estimated time it would be fixed. "Breakfast" consisted of pre-packaged muffins, breakfast bar and coffee.

This hotel is Wonderful! Carol (assistant manager, I think) at the front desk is beyond good, she goes the extra mile!! We had late flights out of Anchorage, so she stored ALL of our luggage in the office, so we didn't have to lug it with us. She smiles all the time and is very helpful with every question. She let us hang out in the lobby for 2 hours when we got back from exploring before our flight also. The girl at the front desk when Carol left at 5 was also very nice and let us use the bathroom! Great place to stay and very nice staff! Only negative, wish your breakfast was just grab and go things. Pictures on the website shows a hot breakfast.

Abou checked us in and made us feel at home.

The hotel is far from downtown where stores and restaurants are located. The hotel has no restroom or toilet at the lobby which is very inconvenient especially if you’re waiting for the room and we need to wait until 3pm for check in. Strict policy is applied for check in time unlike in other hotels if the room is ready they will let you check in early. The room was renovated but looks old. Cabinets are dusty. When we checked in there was a used bath towel hanging at the bathroom door, facial tissue was half way used. The lighting is not enough to brighten the room but at night the curtain was not long enough to cover the daylight. The sun sets at 11pm and sunrise at 455am. There’s no free bottled water. If ever I come back i will chose a hotel close to restaurants and stores.

Front desk rep was great and friendly. The hotel I am surprised is still standing. The rooms AC didn’t work. The thermostat said it was over 80 degrees the whole time. The fridge would kick on and off throughout the night waking us up. The sheets were not soft, almost like sandpaper. And every time I turned in my sleep it woke me up from how low it was. I felt like I was staying at hostile with how hot it was and the crappy bed.

I will be back to stay here again.
