Coral Princess Hotel & Dive Resort

Love the small hotel, friendly atmosphere. Great pool, beach and snorkeling right onsite. Excellent diving hotel, door to door service can’t be beat!

At first glance, the place looked great; a beautiful ocean view from our room, with a tiny balcony (no chairs) but it stopped there. The room was clean but dated and had no frig, coffeemaker or microwave AND the water was unsafe to drink. There was a 1 liter bottle in our room upon arrival and we were told they would give us more. However, when we asked for another bottle we were told we had to buy it! ($5) Seriously? A 1 liter bottle per day for two people? Plus there are zero stores around; there is actually nothing nearby so you would need a car or taxi (at least $10 to taxi to nearest store) to get anywhere. We did rent a car from the hotel one day---$80 for a little car in pretty bad shape, but it worked and we drove it around the island. If you're here to snorkel there's a tiny little spot where you can do that but its rocky. The pool was too cold to swim in and the breakfast was decent but no options---2 eggs, toast, two tiny pieces of bacon (or sausage), a hash brown patty, some good fruit and coffee. Probably worth the $17 each extra we paid (because it included coffee OR juice) but I'd recommend not doing the add on and just ordering from the menu---more options. One day we had no hot water and the TV was poor with just two English channels (we didn't really care about that). Beyond the beautiful ocean view, there is really no reason to stay here with so many other options. Originally, I thought we would come back, but when the front desk made us pay for water on our last day because we had gotten some the day before---that was the straw that broke this camel's back. It's not worth the money; I would suggest going elsewhere. What a pity for a potentially wonderful place with such a lovely setting...

The staff were friendly, the room was pretty good. I did find roaches the kitchen, I took pictures of the roaches and I showed the receptionist, she had the maid take a can of raid roach spray to abait them. The room a fantastic view with a nice breeze flowing through the condo. The maid service was fantastic. The Karaoke bar wasn’t open the 12 days we were there, unfortunately

This was one of the most frustrating and poorly managed stays I’ve had. The rooms are dated and lack basic needs. While our two-bedroom suite was spacious with the normal appliances, you had to pay extra for coffee, something most hotels manage without issue. We had no hot water in the shower and extremely poor water pressure. Even basic toiletries were subpar — cheap, low-quality shower products. The shower was run down and clearly in need of care. Other suites, which our friends stayed in had no mini fridge or coffee maker and the air conditioning was loud, directly under the bed and blew out hot air. Two bottles of water per day were supposed to be provided, yet we routinely had to ask two to three times just to get them. On most days, we had to buy it from town ourselves. The floors were never swept which left a constant flow of sand for our stay. To end our stay, we were locked out of our room before checkout time, which should never happen. Food service is where this place completely falls apart. Options are rigid, minimal, and poorly run. The only restaurant opens at 8:00 am, there is no coffee/tea available anywhere in the lobby, and from 1:00–4:00 pm the only option is a 600-peso lunch buffet. The snack menu is available from 4:00–5:00 pm, then everything shuts down. After 5:00 pm there is nothing to eat on the property except bag of chips which cost $12 US and granola bars. There is supposedly a sports bar that opens at 6:00 pm, but it has no posted hours and during our 7-day stay it was open only 3 nights. This level of inconsistency makes eating a constant annoyance. Yes, you can walk to a store and it’s an easy walk— but it’s 20+ minutes or a cab, which makes this setup completely unreasonable. Amenities are equally disappointing. The pool is ice cold, and the fitness room is laughable — very basic, 1x 1kg, 1x 2kg dumbells, broken equipment, and no towels or water. The most unacceptable experience was at the spa. I was told to undress in the room provided, which had an open window directly facing the pool deck. Staff said guests couldn’t see in — they absolutely could. Someone waved at me while my top was off, and my nude body was visible to people by the pool. I complained to the front desk to which they said NOTHING! While the massage itself was fine, the complete lack of privacy was shocking and inexcusable. Most of the staff were friendly, professional, and clearly trying their best. Unfortunately, the gentleman responsible for towel service was rude and unhelpful, and seemed to decide his own hours as to when towels were available. I don’t blame the staff I blame the management! The only real positives were the spacious suite and the fact that the property was quiet and not crowded. I would never recommend this hotel. The inflexibility, lack of basic services, and poor management will frustrate the hell out of you. Save yourself the aggravation and stay literally anywhere else.

De kamer was geweldig met groot balkon met ligstoelen en uitzicht op zee. Personeel was wel heel vriendelijk.

Voor de prijs van het hotel verwacht je meer. Het restaurant was nooit open in de avond. Alleen voor ontbijt. Er was alleen een karaokee bar in de avond waar je iets kleins kon eten. Een hotel dat zijn beste tijd heeft gehad.

L’hôtel est très bien situé avec une plage donnant accès à la mer directement.

Les chambres sont un peu désuètes.

Been staying here for 20 years, and unfortunately this will be my last. We had multiple issues during our stay that were maintenance related ... namely, an AC unit that wouldn't cool, and then the same unit that wouldn't shut off. Condition of furniture is degraded. Issues with the safe. Shower that is an odd design where the water pools up (not clogged, but just the design). TV remote randomly stops working (and terrible picture, not watchable). AC controls randomly stop working. Screen door pops right off when using. Internet access stops working randomly (had to sign in probably > 100 times). The staff is A+, and the facility location on the water is A+. You can snorkel and see a variety of tropical fish, rays, and much more right in front of the hotel. Very clean. But it just needs updating, period. If this hotel does a remodel and gets the rooms updated with new AC, new showers, new Wifi, new TVs, ,etc., then I absolutely would not hesitate to return. But until then, unfortunately I will be staying at other properties that are similar in price but have much nicer rooms. I truly wish the hotel staff the best of luck and hope the owners can invest and turn this ship around.
