"Robo en recepción"

Negligencia, intento de cobro duplicado y maltrato a adultos mayores y niños a la 1 AM Reserva realizada por Booking.com para tres habitaciones, Hotel Hampton by Hilton Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale. Dos reservas: una del 4 al 10 de mayo y otra del 5 al 10 de mayo. Contexto: viajábamos afectados por la quiebra de Spirit Airlines, lo que nos obligó a reorganizar todo el itinerario familiar con sobrecostos enormes. Escribimos al hotel en múltiples ocasiones a través de Booking solicitando ajustar la fecha de llegada de la segunda reserva del día 5 al día 6. Nunca obtuvimos respuesta. Al llegar la segunda parte del grupo, tres adultos mayores y tres niños menores, el recepcionista de turno afirmó que no encontraba la reserva y exigió un nuevo pago de USD $1.800, que ya había sido cobrado por Booking. Durante cuatro horas y media, este señor dejó parados en el lobby a adultos mayores y niños, sin ofrecer ninguna solución, mientras seguía atendiendo a otras personas en la fila como si nosotros no existiéramos. Nosotros nos comunicamos con Booking para que nos ayudar a solucionar el inconveniente del hotel para resolver la situación, el recepcionista se negó a tomar el teléfono. Tuvimos que poner el altavoz para que escuchara. Aun así, repitió que “no podía hacer nada” estando frente a un computador y con acceso al correo institucional donde estaba la confirmación. Su única propuesta era que volviéramos a pagar. El asesor de Booking tuvo que hablar de sanciones al hotel para que el recepcionista accediera a llamar a su supervisor. Fue ese supervisor quien resolvió a la 1:30 AM lo que el recepcionista bloqueó deliberadamente por más de una hora. Adicionalmente, al primer grupo le cobraron un depósito de USD $300 que a la fecha no ha sido devuelto. Este señor no cometió un error. Intentó cobrar una reserva ya pagada a una familia con niños y adultos mayores, a las 7:30 PM, y los retuvo hasta pasada la medianoche. Eso no es incompetencia.

Location, design, rooms, breakfast…. Everything was nice and ample. The desk staff were very good at their job, especially on check in when there was a disorderly drunk man in the lobby acting out and bothering guests. They were very professional ( honestly I lost my patience with the guy when he got fresh with my daughter) but the desk staff dealt with him very well..

The room was ok

The breakfast was very second rate served with plastic knives and forks and paper plates. The washing machine on our floor did not work and had no out of order sign on it so we wasted our detergent. The location had a lot of homeless people close by, especially walking in to the main FT Lauderdale town

"Be careful- they overcharge and don’t care"

We stayed there March 6-8 for a volleyball tournament. The two gentleman at the front desk were delightful. The room was clean, and we left happy. However when we got our bill, they had charged us almost $100 in Hideaway charges that did not belong to us. We were at a volleyball tournament and were not at the bar. We called the front office three times to rectify our folio. When I did speak to manager, she said she would have to check the video. I told her I would like to the see the signed restaurant receipts since those charges were billed to our room incorrectly. We never received one call back. Very disappointing and warning to all guests to check your folio before you checkout. I feel defrauded and this experience totally ruined our great stay. We won’t be back next season and will tell all our volleyball teams at our club to steer clear.
