Apex Grassmarket Hotel

We loved the location in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town! We were able to walk everywhere easily. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Wonderful hospitality by the gentleman who welcomed us upon check-in.

Location excellent. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with lots of good options for one in our party with food allergies.

Parking cramped and expensive. Busy hotel with only two elevators so we used stairs. Marathon weekend made it a little busy.

We have stayed at Apex Waterloo & Apex City in Edinburgh ~ outstanding properties! Would not have thought to doubt the same at this Apex ~ It is a great location. Staff was pleasant. This hotel does not have A/C ~ opening window provided little relief & not really an option because of the noise ~ to be expected on a popular square. There is a lift after you go up several steps. All of that could be overlooked ~ but still would have been a deal breaker ~ if not for the cleanliness of the bathroom. The shower floor & floor had mold/∨ discoloration tgat was off-putting. The toilet is very difficult to flush. We would not stay here again & never recommend this property unless or until the major issues ~ a/c & retiring were addressed.

The location of the hotel excellent, within walking distance to almost everything. Also loved the breakfast.

Es war ein traumhafter Blick auf das Castle vom Balkon des Zimmers . Das Zimmer selber war sauber und geräumig . Frühstück wurde aus der Karte und Buffet gewählt und es gab nichts zu beanstanden,es war lecker und hatte eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten . Einmal aus dem Hotel raus und ein paar Treppen gelaufen so war man direkt auf der Royle Mile.

Der Parkplatz des Hotels ist leider zu einem öffentlichem Parkplatz geworden wo jeder parken kann , auch bleibt der Parkplatz über Nacht geöffnet da die Tore keine Funktion mehr haben. Heißt also wer zuerst kommt hat nen Parkplatz ansonsten eher eine lange Nase und damit ein Problem sein Auto zu parken.

Great hotel with view to Edinburgh Castle in the heart of the old town. Had an amazing stay. Would love to return.
