In un albego di questo tenore ti aspetti un frigo pieno o con almeno 2 bottigline di acqua. Invece il frigo era assolutamente vuoto.

We had a twin room which had 2 double beds so it was really spacious and comfortable. Slept quite well - beds comfy and the shower was nice and hot in the morning. Nice bonus was having a swimming pool and sauna

There was no coffee machine in the room just instant sachets which was disappointing. No air conditioning so I guess the room would be warm in hot weather. The fan supplied was small and quite noisy.

Sin aire acondicionado ni termostato. La habitación era un horno. Eso sí, tienes un mini ventilador disponible. El segundo día llegamos por la tarde y la habitación estaba sin hacer. Inaceptable.

Loved location and the staff

Excellent location right in the heart of Grassmarket. The room was roomy, clean and comfortable. Splurge on the castle view with a balcony. It made for such a special stay in Edinburgh.

We stayed at this hotel as a family of 4 as husband was running the Edinburgh Marathon. We hadn’t realised quite how close we were going to be to all the bars. It was noisy outside and there was also a corridor party outside our room too, at 3am! If you want a decent night’s sleep then avoid this hotel. The carpets, curtains, walls and doorframes all looked grubby. The room is desperately in need of a refurb. The hotel has a pool but I didn’t see much evidence of a ‘Spa’. We didn’t look forward to going back to the room each night and we couldn’t wait to check out. We stayed in a shepherd’s hut in Northumberland (Huts in the Hills) after leaving Edinburgh and the facilities were a million times better than this hotel.

Location, breakfast and staff

The bed - absolutely dreadful. The noise - building site next to us and air conditioning unit broken - when complained taped it up so workable, but no apology for a night with no sleep and no swapping rooms as requested. Very disappointing for a 4 star!

Solo la posizione. L'hotel si trova in posizione veramante molto centrale con una magnifica visuale sul castello. Il Royal Mall (High Street) si raggiunge in due minuti con una scalinata che si trova proprio di fronte all'hotel. La caratteristica Victoria Street è a soli 100mt dall'albergo.

L'accoglienza non è delle migliori, ci sono circa 15 scalini da fare che per persone anziane e con valige appena un po' pesanti non è il massimo e non c'è nessuno che aiuta. Il personale al desk è lento e non molto cordiale. Per quello che si paga (LA DOPPIA, 413€ (350 pound) A NOTTE...!!!), nella stanza non c'è nulla, nemmeno gli accappatoi o le pantofole. L'arredamento della stanza da dimenticare! La dotazione del bagno è scarsina. La procedura per attvare il wifi, inutilmente farraginosa e la velocità abbastanza scarsa. E' un grosso albergo con tante stanze e tanta gente quindi anche la prima colazione, pagata a parte ben 35£ (pound) a persona lascia molto a desiderare con una sala colazione che sembra una mensa aziendale, tavoli non molto puliti e preparati malissimo. La scelta è abbastanza limitata per la cifra che chiedono e la qualità appena sufficiente. Nostri amici hanno prenotato un hotel sul Royal Mall, ricavato da un vecchio edificio storico, pagando gli stessi soldi ma con una qualità ed un servizio molto ma molto migliori. ASSOLUTAMENTE SCONSIGLIATO!

We booked this hotel because of location and recommendation from a friend. Top marks for location in the heart of Edinburgh and walking distance to many of the popular locations (Victoria Street, Royal Mile, Greyfriars Bobby, Train Station). The room was comfortable and big enough with fridge and smart tv however we did have an issue with the shower flooding the whole bathroom (this was an accessible room which we did not book). A few other niggles that we had were resolved. We felt the rooms were a little tired and a revamp was probably needed but fine for the two nights we spent there. Smart tv was useful and we did use the casting function. Lots of unnecessary wardrobe space if you need it! We would return again based on location alone but would book a castle view.
