Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while on a business trip. There are 2 other major hotels in the same compound, namely the Sofitel and Holiday Inn Express. Behind the hotel is a massage center where you can have a foot or body massage for a resonable price. Prices and types of massage are displayed in English also. The hotel rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is not an issue for anyone as they have both western and Chinese selections. The Italian restaurant, Mama Mia, on the ground floor serves pizza, pasta and meat dishes. If you wish to try other food, there are restaurants along and opposite the hotel. The staffs are very helpful and are able to converse in English. CNN and BBC news are available in your room television. Wifi is free and available throughout the hotel.

The property made on the first impression a nit an aged impression but it turned out to be one to be well maintained and the dinner buffet was real excellent - beyond expectations. And looking now back it was the best hotel experience I had in my 14 days China trip.

I was with a group traveling to Zhongzhou for a conference. We Stayed at this lovely old hotel which was very accommodating. Most staff spoke English and were very helpful when making plans. The rooms were plentiful, clean and quiet. Unlike most hotels these were nonsmoking. The breakfast was good with mostly Chinese fare

Mamma Mia restaurant in the hotel is a lifesaver, especially if you don't like Chinese food like me. I ate their Pizza three times a day and it never got old, might just be the best pizza I ever had. The rest of the hotel is just okay, second time I stayed I got bed bugs... But I didn't care cuz I had pizza. People around the city are Super nice!

well, i had a room on 2 stages on the ground floor. notvery usefull. a nightmare to choose the suitable light and to switch off everything, An alarm rang for hours because a door was not properly close. nobody did something. . the breakfast is poor and coffee was not good. Well not a nice night ...

All hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. Ted Young was prompt and efficient in arranging our transport and a very good driver to Kaifeng and also the Shaolin Zen Night Performance at Dengfeng!

Wife and I booked into this hotel for four nights. In general it was a very nice hotel albeit very much "over the top" in the Chinese way. I had lived in China for four years so I knew what to expect. Service was excellent and the room was lovely and comfortable. We spent a lot of time trying to negotiate the lighting system in the room. Why cant hotels just go back to simple switches near the bed and door? Although there were "No Smoking" signs everywhere no one seemed to take any notice of the rule. When a wedding party took place near our room smoke was billowing down the hallway. There is a constant smell of smoke. I questioned the reception staff and they apologised profusely however did nothing. While I was checking out a young man standing at the counter calmly spat on the floor near my feet. Having lived in China I should be aware of this but in a "5 star" hotel I would have thought they could control such habits.
