Key Largo Inn

It should be a crime to list a hotel room for rent that smells this musty. It made my lungs itch. This is housing for local service industry workers MASQUERADING as a hotel. You can tell by the bicycle chained outside one of the rooms, the deskstand outside another (by the street) with potted flowers and a used tired right beside it, as well as the window to one of the rooms on the opposite side of the reception office that’s decorated with knick knacks, stickers and other items. Obviously someone’s permanent housing. You don’t see any tourists walking around, in the pool or coming back from an excursion. I immediately asked Expedia and the hotel for a refund. The receptionist gave a reply that you can tell she’s had to say it over a hundred times “have to wait for manager on Monday”. We left within an hour or 2, booked a much nicer hotel last second right outside the newer hotel in the parking lot. Expedia should be embarrassed to list this room. If you go, check the posted images on the property’s page on Expedia. They threw in pictures of nice looking rooms (where’d they get those pictures?) mixed in with real pictures. Carpets haven’t been changed since Clinton administration. So to conclude: I left shortly after check in, had to book another hotel last minute and ended up paying for both hotels (absolutely worth it) because Key Largo Inn would not refund me.

Most staff were okay, but one older employee was outrageously rude and unhelpful. We tried to add one more person to our booking, and he refused, citing “regulations,”. Fine—I started looking for another room online, but I’m convinced he messed with the system because the available rooms vanished after I refreshed the app. That forced me to book directly through him at a higher rate. It was sneaky and dishonest. The hotel itself is a wreck—old, poorly maintained, with a damp, musty smell that hits you the moment you walk in. Everything feels outdated and neglected. This was an absolute disaster of a stay, and I’ll never come back. I’d warn anyone else to stay far away too.

Rooms a little small

quite possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Rooms stunk, carpet damaged very sketchy place. I would avoid at all cost…Blinds wouldn’t shut all the way. Took photo copies of ID and credit card. Seemed like homeless people frequently stayed on grounds

The traffic from the highway was very loud even with the wall unit A/C running

We got there & pictures did not match. This place is a dump. We did not stay. Spent $$$$ to stay elsewhere even though we might not get our money back, if that tells you anything. DO NOT DO IT!

Forst the staff was amazing! and second, if you like to feel the freshness of a clean set of sheets on the bed, you'll love it here!

Older hotel, what I would call a motel. There was parking and overall it was clean and nice to sit at tables by the pool. Lots of trees and shade. Breakfast a little meager but that is the price of staying at a hotel for the best rate.
