The Sea Ranch Lodge

10/10! Amazing stay, perfect stop on our road trip. The dinner reservations book up quick so do book in advance if you want to eat in dining room. We ate at bar and it was great. Room was super cool, and view framed the landscape perfectly. Property is so thoughtful and like one big piece of art. Would def stay here again.

Lovey place but check-in was almost impossible. The check-in area/main building/dining area shut down—no on one around at 7:15pm. Walked all over place trying to find someway to check in and no ancillary people around. By luck a service guy was just leaving around 7:30 helped us wait until someone eventually unlocked door to check us in. As we all were waiting at that door, got a text at 7:33pm about how to check in “late.” Prior to that had not gotten any notice to warn us there would be an issue. Someone shortly after came to unlock door and we got checked in. Think they are still working on rebuilding this place up, at this time not a full service place—but still beautiful.

Booked oceanfront hotel room in main lodge months ago. Was told 2 weeks before arrival that reservation was randomly cancelled via email with no explanation. Had to call to find out why. Said they booked entire lodge for an event so therefore cancelled everyone else’s reservations. Moved us to a cabin in the woods where we had to hike with three suitcases with a dangerous path. I’ve never experienced anything like this for $600 a night. No communication, cabin is old, tons of bugs. Would rather stay at a Hilton garden inn. Called and emailed multiple times. No response. Picture of how far I had to hike up three suitcases, all weighing 50 lbs. my mom is elderly, basically disabled. They didn’t care.

Beautiful property! You have access to the trails right next to the ocean and it was the prettiest walk I’ve ever been on. The rooms are well designed with convenience in mind - remote control lighting, outlets, B&O portable speaker, etc etc. The staff are also super friendly and helpful. Will return to this property anytime :)

Had a poor experience at the property. After check-in, i made a dinner reservation in person at the conceige/check-in place, and a staff member confirmed my dinner time and reservation. However when I arrived at the restaurant later that day, they told me there was a mistake and I could not eat at the table, they could only let me eat at the bar with a (very limited) bar menu. On the second day I complained to a different staff member at check-in place, and she told me the person yesterday just went ahead made my reservation and forgot to check there was an event yesterday. Then I went to the coffee shop at the hotel and ordered a hazelnut latte, they made me a caramel latte. Seems like people working here just decide to do whatever they want for the job and keep on making mistakes, which is odd for a hotel of this price tag. The room is clean, trail next to the hotel is great, tho.

To wake up in the morning to the view of the Pacific Ocean from our room was quite spectacular!!

Wonderfully unique location and puristically designed common area, great use of wooden materials, nice wooden fireplace in the room.

Unable to accommodate use of the recreational (spa) facilities without purchasing additional passes, but not from the hotel, but from the home owners association a few miles away during their opening hours. Power went out multiple times during the night, which in and of itself would not have been the issue (storms plagued the area), but their emergency lighting kicked into place every time the power went out and illuminated the bed with flood lights (!) and a loud bang, causing you to wake up in panic and interrupting sleep 5 times. Staff less than accommodating about it, quite interesting at 700+ a night.

Truly a one of a kind hotel in a beautiful setting. The entire place has a wonderful "zen" feeling to it. The rooms are exceptionally well designed and extremely cozy. A number of EV charges (ChargePoint) available -- Be aware of hefty idle fees ($10/h).

I agree with other guests here that the Lodge is lacking a hot tub or similar SPA amenities.

This is one of the loveliest properties we stayed in. Great staff. Easy check in process. Great room with a view of the water and sunset. Bottles of water and great brewed coffee. Bottle of wine was a nice addition. No TV meant we can zone out and just do more out door activities. Our room was kept clean. The in house restaurant was also great! It was a beautiful and peaceful piece of heaven in California.
