I am sure the operators are trying hard, but this is an exit ramp area that has fallen on hard times with many closed businesses. The night I stayed (a Thursday evening as freshmen were beginning to arrive at nearby University of Iowa), there were only three other guest cars. Air conditioning didn't work and common areas were cooled by having doors open. Room maintenance looked amateurish, not all listed tv stations worked, breakfast choices were limited, orange juice was watery. Room keys had Super 8 labels. Waffles were tasty and room rate was low.

"Worst place to stay "

2.0

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was late night and the hotel across the way was booked so this was our only option. I rather would have slept in my car. Filthy and smelled terrible also when I tried to brush my teeth the water came out yellow, went to Casey’s to clean up.

"Close to a city without being in the city"

8.0

A friend and I stayed for a night. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the rooms were clean and the beds were nice enough that I had almost fallen asleep right as I had settled in. It's just off an interstate leading to Iowa City, but the nice thing about it is that you dont get the noise of the city and it's far enough from the interstate that you don't hear the cars.
