Super 8 by Wyndham Bath Hammondsport Area

The hotel is conveniently located (I was visiting the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force), with many restaurants available. Unfortunately the air in the room was very damp, with some dark spots in the bathroom (mold?), which made it a little hard to breath. The room was otherwise quite clean, service was good, but the air quality really affected my stay.

The sheets and towels were stained. Luckily I travel with my own sheet insert so I don’t have to sleep on hotel sheets. The towels however were a different story. We had to go purchase some at Walmart to use while there.

Television did not work. Could not change channels. Had to unplug it to turnoff.

Pretty ran down property. Towels had suspicious brown spots on them. The furniture was good though. We did not enjoy the stay.

This hotel is not what it claims to be. It's dirty, the breakfast is almost non-existent, and the staff is slow to respond to issues. Friends also told me after the fact that it's in a seedy part of town.

Our bathroom was visibly dirty and shampoo and conditioner bottles replaced on sink counter were half used.

It was conveniently located to the locations I needed to visit during my stay.

Let me count the ways! 1) At check-in, they asked me to contribute to a sacred cow fund. I felt like that was totally inappropriate. 2) The bathroom sink and the bathtub drained very slowly, but they didn't bother to fix that. 3) When I asked for extra washcloths, they said I could only have 2 a day. 4) There was hardly any food at the breakfast. Only cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. That was the first day. On the last day, there was only cereal and toast. No fruit, no yogurt, no pastries. It was a 3-hour time frame for breakfast, but they did not resupply items when they ran out. 5) They didn't replace toiletry items or coffee cups even though it was obvious that we needed more. 6) When I told my friends where we were staying, they said to be careful because it was in a bad part of town. 7) The bedding was very sparse - could have used a bigger blanket or a heavier bedspread.

Upon check-in the lobby smelled like sweaty armpits. The room itself was fairly clean, but physical appearance was rough. Poorly painted walls and baseboards. Shower and sink faucets were hard water/soap stained. The ceiling of the shower had peeling paint and some form of cover in the corner of the bathroom ceiling was randomly leaking water.
