Quality Inn & Suites Charleston - Civic Center

Rooms were newly refurbished and nice but the faucet in the kitchenette wouldn't work. Staff was helpful. Lot of homeless people hanging out around this area.

Too many homeless in the surrounding area. I feel unsafe when I return in the dark

Don’t rent from these uneducated hillbillies! Wv inbreds ! They rent you a room and then rent it again through out the night and allow other people into your room!

Overall it was good. The room was clean and the staff was excellent. We had 1 light switch and 1 outlet that did not work. Those are the only complaints I have.

Pool is closed, breakfast poorly stocked with low/no bread, little or no orange juice, and I had to ask for plastic forks. Butter was cut into pieces and placed in a cereal bowl in the mini refrigerator. Limited tea bags available. Sausage and eggs and waffles good. Rooms OK, stained carpet, nice beds and bathroom.

Homeless people everywhere

Check-in was at 3 pm but because of minimal staff, we had to wait an additional hour to check in. The website advertised a pool but the pool was not cleaned, prepped, or ready for guests. After mentioning it to the front desk, they said we could use the Best Western's pool. The gym had minimal equipment and was extremely hot. One elevator for 140 rooms. Stairs were odd -go out external and then back inside. One stairwell did not access to the first floor (emergency exit only). Attempts to bring up to standard - lobby furniture and newer carpet in the hallway and in the room - newer carpet and furniture kind of. Phone was about 20+ years old, faded, and chipped. Tub was the same - could easily see wear and tear. The room air conditioner had a clicking sound all night. Breakfast - no fitted lids for the coffee cups, OJ was a gallon container all guests poured from, danishes and muffins were pre-package, scrambled eggs were minimal at 6:30am, and no meat available. It did not present well nor seemed appetizing or appealing. Front desk personnel - courteous, polite and nice.
