Baranof Lodge

Great location, basic setup but clean and functional. Very nice araff

We were assigned a room with a known non-functioning toilet. We got to the hotel around 9:30 PM to check in. When we got to our room, we heard the toilet running and went to find the clerk. She said the toilet "has been a problem for a while", but she could not get it to work and the hotel was sold out. In addition, there is no public toilet anywhere in the hotel. So, we rented a room with no toilet and no recourse for a better alternative. I believe we're owed a refund.

Very convenient - helpful shuttle drivers!

The front desk person, Nick, was especially friendly and helpful. He made the stay wonderful. A kind and helpful young man!

My fiance of course started reading reviews after we had already paid for the room an we were expecting a lot worse. What I loved about the hotel is it was clean, the new lounge is amazing (even though we are both in recovery) I would love to see the lounge service not just alcohol but maybe something for guests that don't drink? Other than that the one thing that annoyed me the most was that most of the time there was no one at the front desk and when there was he wasn't really into customer service for sure. He wasn't rude but he wasn't nice either. More like mediocre. I also am a housekeeper so I cleaned our room the entire time but left a tip for the housekeeper that had a way better attitude then the front desk guy!

Great place to stay

I have stayed here for at least one night for several years in a row. It holds a fondness in my heart despite the fact that it really is just a basic hotel - not fancy, but the rooms are good, the bathrooms (tubs in particular) could probably use a bit of an update on their plumbing, but the staff are nice and I like it. The space changed ownership not too long ago and they are investing in the space. There are communal spaces for hanging out outside the room, a BBQ, etc. Overall, a solid basic hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Baranof Lodge. We happened to have some unusually warm days when we were there and the AC didn’t work, but the fan did and we left the window open so it helped. The place was clean and even with having the window open every night, it was very quiet. And it was within walking distance to a ton of places. I would definitely stay at the Baranof Lodge again.

Old and outdated motel. Bathroom sink still had toothpaste from previous guest as well as shaving hairs on the sink. Bed linens were old and worn. Questionable if they were fresh. I would not recommend. One star is generous.
