"Could use a good deep clean and some basic upgrades"

4.0

We stayed here during Talladega race weekend. We used it as a place to sleep and shower, which is really all it's good for. It sucks they jack the price of the rooms up during this time, but it's probably the only weekend of the year where they make money! The beds were surprisingly clean and comfortable, with the exception of the pillows which were discolored and dirty. That wasn't a problem for us since we always travel with our own from home. That was about the only thing that was visibly clean. The whole room could use a deep clean and some basic upgrades. Lavender curtains, lime green wall, mirrors drilled so high into the wall they're useless, old comforters that probably haven't been washed in years, thin towels, etc. There aren't too many places to stay that close to the race track - most of them are old motels like this one, so you take what you can get. I'll bring my own cleaning supplies next time!

"Cheapest hotel in town for a reason"

2.0

Dirty. Bugs in the shower & living quarters. A special creepy factor that the video cameras mounted around hotel are used for spying on guests. Do NOT recommend to anyone who has better options, sleeping under a bridge for example. If you complain to the proprietor he immediately raises his voice & says: Because it's dirty you're supposed to stay here free (I'm guessing he keeps this response on hand for what must be daily complaints).

"The white towels were NOT white!"

6.0

This location was very convenient to my business meeting and FAR away from downtown. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was clean. The linen was thin and, as a result, I went and bought my own blankets. My main problem was the towels. Hotel towels are WHITE to let you know when they need to be discarded. The towels in my room were clean but NOT white, they were dirty looking. I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again because of the towel concern, the linen concern, and the continental breakfast which was basically honeybuns and toast. The ladies at the front desk were nice and so was the guy. The ice machine didn't work though. The vending machine was conveniently located outside by the laundry room.

"WOW Stinky"

4.0

After reading various reviews of this property I was prepared to be 'pleasantly surprised'. I wasn't. Immediately upon entering the room the smell attack me. It attached itself to every single item I brought into the room. All my clothes, luggage, everything ended up smelling like that room. I stay in a lot of motels each year and honestly this property barely gets an 'average' rating from me...even considering it's a Super 8...which is NOT my favourite chain of motels. From the very rude and obnoxious front desk staff to the fact that there was not one working vending machine on the property to the fact that the property itself is not located near anything...there isn't anything to recommend this place. I would say stay at something nearer Interstate 20. By the way...don't get up hungry...all they offer is some horrible coffee and...well, that's all they offer. If that's a continental breakfast the continent must be Antarctica

"It was okay"

6.0

We were in the area for business on race weekend. The hotel is a little off the beaten path but we could get where we needed to go without too much trouble. It was comfortable. When we got there the room was clean, mostly-they didn't seem to clean any of the corners at all. My biggest problem with the room was, if you weren't ready for them to clean your room at 8:30 am, it didn't get cleaned that day. We were there 4 nights which meant we should have gotten service 3 times, the first morning we were up and dressed when they came by and we said all we needed was clean towels. The next 2 morning we were gone by 9am and still got no service because we had our Do Not Disturb sign on our door until we left at 9. If I really needed to stay there, I wouldn't hesitate to; but I would look for a room elsewhere first.
