It was in a good position for visiting family. It was all very pleasant. The swimming pool was nice but noisy.

Patron only swimming times. More gluten free/dairy free options.

Information in room said gym opened at 6:45, door on gym said 7am. Waiting 15mins and staff didn’t turn up for the day. Rooms smelt of cannabis. Breakfast - not much choice Staff didn’t really seem to know what they were doing Hairdryer faulty Old and needs upgrade

The property was advertised as a 4-star hotel, however my experience fell significantly below what I would reasonably expect from that rating. The room itself was clearly run down and in poor condition, but the more serious issues were as follows: Heating: The room was cold on arrival, and when I contacted reception, I was advised the heating was on a timer and would come on later. It did not come on when I was told it would, leaving the room uncomfortable for a significant period. Windows: The windows in the room did not close properly, which only made the temperature issue worse. Bathroom hygiene: Most concerning of all, there was a full human excrement left in the toilet on arrival. This is completely unacceptable from a hygiene and housekeeping perspective. What is particularly frustrating is that these issues were raised during my stay, yet nothing meaningful was done to resolve them. I travel regularly for work and have stayed in a significant number of hotels over the years, and I can say without hesitation that this was one of the poorer experiences I have had — certainly nowhere near the standard expected of a 4-star property.

It was disgusting £141. Supposed to be a 4* hotel... either booking.com or The Apollo need taking to trading standards. Light hanging off the wall exposed electric wires Window handle fell off in my hand, pleased there wasn't a fire Bathroom not cleaned in the last 5 years at least

Staff in reception & bar very friendly. Food was good.

Room smelt of smoke, bath was dirty. Windows in & out dirty. No remote for the tv. Holes in the curtain. 5.30am sounded like upstairs had a herd of elephants & continuous door slamming.

Location other than that nothing

Breakfast was terrible. No vegetarian breakfast available even though we emailed and phoned and asked before hand due to kids allergies. Had to wait 15mins for beans to be filled, apparently the chef didn't turn up on a Bank holiday weekend and they couldn't get a replacement. The room was not cleaned for the 4 days we stayed there, no rubbish collected or anything replenished. Had to get verbal to get new towels after 2 days and even then it arrived just before my kids bedtime and after going to the reception. Staff were not helpful at all especially the front desk, their answer to everything was a shrug and blaming previous staff on duty. I was also told that the change of towels would not be changed on the following day of stay, so I waited for the next day, then on that day i waited until 1pm nothing was done spoke to the reception staff who explained the cleaning staff have until 4pm even after that nothing was done staff explained cleaners had finished and left for the day. Shocking and poor service, no one wanted to take responsibility for everything that had happened and it was always someone else's fault

The room was missing the bath plug which I called the hotel to ask where I could find one , it took over an hour for someone to bring a plug for the bath of which at that point it was way too late as clock out time was in 20 minutes
