The Wayfarer San Diego

Close to the beach. Room was spacious and clean and comfortable.

Looks a little dirty outside the hotel and saw a few homeless guys outside my window

The Wayfarer is great! We traveled as a family of 4 and I was worried the double queen room would be too small but the room was spacious. We had a balcony and could see the ocean. It was clean & the staff was accommodating. We rented bikes to explore the area which was a nice option. Had a mini fridge for drinks, Loved the pool area & hot tub. Great amenities & right on the beach!

I would not recommend. This really is a motel, not a hotel. The hotel has seedy foot traffic in the area, which is not abnormal for PB but this place needs to step up its security. During the stay, a male stranger knocked on our door and asked to use our bathroom. We called security and they said they would walk the halls. The hallway elevator was very banged up and dirty. The pool deck had trash on it. We had to request room cleaning even though there were several cleaning staff members on our floor outside our door all day. This felt like a motel, not a hotel. The cafe was overpriced and the staff member got our order wrong, she said she would issue a refund for charging us for the wrong order. She seemed pretty out of it. There was also a seedy man loitering near the entrance to the hotel building. Turns out he was affiliated with the front desk staff but he was skulking around. Very odd experience. The room was clean when we checked in. And the staff was polite.

Location

Not handicap accessible. Buildings difficult to access if in a wheelchair or have any mobility issues. There is 1 handicap spot in garage and if full there is no way to access the hotel elevators unless dropped off in garage

The facility and staff was great it was my second time visiting The Wayfarer with my girlfriend. We like it's walking distance to the beach and some good food places off the strand. I plan on returning.

I didn't like paying $40 a day for parking and the tv wasn't smart tv to stream/watch my own apps.

Excellent location to enjoy the local beach, restaurants and shops. Pool is right on the boardwalk so great for people watching. Everyone is having fun

Location

Location is fantastic. Parking is expensive but they did give us a discount.

The AC was dripping and broke in one room, and in general the AC was just a bit hard to figure out.

Crowds around the pool were loud and lil obnoxious ; proximity to public bathroom densities the homeless population just outside the front door of the hotel (obviously nothing they can do about it)
