Shephard's Beach Resort

Arrived early afternoon on Sunday 10/12/25 . Didn't make a reservation wanted to see room before booking, Ladies at the Front Desk we're very understanding and Friendly, Lauren, Toni, Erika. They suggested 2 queen room with a beautiful view, We we're very pleased with their choice, Room was very clean, Staff throughout the Resort was always Friendly, Tiki Bars and Music is Awesome , Tom H at Tiki Bar was Awesome and really knows how to be a great bartender. We planned a 2 night Stay instead we stayed 3 , Great Price. Great Location, stayed here in the late 90s when it was a 2 story motel. Thank You All at Shepherds Beach Resort

I highly recommend Shepards Beach Resort. Everything you need right on property. We will be staying there every time we vacation in Florida. Toni at check in was awesome. Made everything so easy and she was so pleasant

We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Every time we come here, the front desk gals Regina and Toni are so welcoming. The valet guys are super efficient and friendly. The housekeepers always have smiles ready for you. And I say it every time I write a review, Marlene makes the best lattes in the coffee shop! We always rent the city side because we do enjoy our sleep. We love this "little" resort so much that my significant other asked me to marry him on the beach while watching the sun set bc he knew it would be perfect and it really was. Shepherd's will always be our special place.

The view from our room was amazing!!! The balcony overlooked the stage and the water and was a wonderful way to fall asleep and wake up. The music is loud and runs after midnight, so if you don't like noise, book your room city side. We loved the music!! The only problem with our balcony is that the room below us kept smoking and the cigarette smell was bad, but we didn't know until after checkout that smoking on balconies wasn't allowed or else we would've said something. The room itself was clean and a comfortable size with a mini fridge and microwave. The shower looked awesome but the water pressure was so low that we couldn't wash our hair. The pool and spa area was very clean and the beach was beautiful. We ate breakfast at the on-site restaurant (the cove) two times and the waitresses there were awesome and the food was good. It was fun eating outside with the birds that try to steal food from the tables. Lastly, Toni from the front desk made sure our stay was the best it could be. We told her we were first timers to Florida and she made sure we had a great room and at checkout she gave my daughter a souvenir from the hotel. Thanks for helping us make great memories!!

Not sure why when I scroll though the first 25 reviews no one mentions sleepless nights. Just want to make readers aware that if you face the pool/beach, a band plays till midnight, making our room vibrate. Next, the DJ went on for another 2 hours. Not just loud in our room, but it felt that we were right down front and center. At least 7 people complained at the front desk the night. Certainly, we weren’t the only people who mistook an “entertainment resort” (think Hard Rock or any Las Vegas hotel) with a place to get no sleep until 2am. We did not read between the lines and we should not have to. We did ask to have our room changed, but of course no luck. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was the beach area and pool were nice, and as pictured on their website. We did find a different place to sleep the second night and ate the $ we had paid. .

Shephard's Beach Resort is a great place to spend a vacation with family or friends: highs: the Cove restaurant, valet parking and the Wave. Gianna at the Cove provided the best service since eating at Quality Italian in the City two months ago. The food at the Cove was surprisingly good--the 601 salad with marinated steak tips was as good as one could get anywhere, and the appetizers were quite good with the crabcake and conch fritters taking first place. Renee was our kind server for breakfast, and smoothed over a small kitchen missed tocket. Our room (a two bedroom suite) was sizeable and well apportioned with newer finishes. One small downside was that it was directly over the nightclub--something that was not made clear to us when booking live with the Font Desk and may well have altered our decision. The downstairs snack shop has a variety of items and is fairly priced--making the trip enjoyable with snacks and sodas. Toni made our checkout smooth and quick. Finally, would be remiss not to mention Kayla who did an amazing hob of bringing the car around quickly!

Been here many times and always good and this time better than ever. Toni Regina was awesome and helped quite a bit. Check in and out was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Drive from Tampa was nice and easy. Had a great view of the ocean. Bathroom was nice and clean. Very nice. Lobby was great and hallways were clean.

Our first visit here. Clean room, friendly hospitality, and good night life. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance from location. We will be back.

We had our wedding at Shephard’s Beach Resort on 10/18/25, and it was everything we could have dreamed of — and more! From start to finish, the entire weekend was flawless. The beach ceremony was stunning, and the Wave Nightclubmade for an incredible reception space — vibrant, elegant, and full of energy. A huge shoutout to Leah, who ran everything seamlessly. She kept the day stress-free and perfectly on schedule — we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. The bartenders and servers were amazing all night — friendly, fast, and made sure everyone always had what they needed. DJ Brandon James absolutely crushed it! The dance floor was packed all night, and every song transition felt spot-on. The food was outstanding — our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. Every detail, from the breathtaking beach backdrop to the glowing nightclub reception, came together perfectly. I wouldn’t change a single thing. If you’re thinking about getting married in Clearwater, Shephard’s Beach Resort and The Wave are a dream come true!

I stayed in a Queen Studio, but upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the beds were not queens—they were doubles. I sleep in a queen every night and know the difference. To make matters worse, the headboard was visibly wider than the mattress by several inches, further confirming the issue. When I called the front desk to clarify, they insisted that "they don't have doubles," essentially gaslighting me instead of addressing the discrepancy. The room itself had some decent amenities, but it clearly needed maintenance and attention to detail. For a resort that markets itself as upscale, there were far too many small things falling apart or neglected. We chose this location for a family vacation, only to find that most of the bars and restaurants were closed for much of the week, with no notice or transparency about it in advance. When they were open, they enforced an age limit after 9pm, which completely goes against the idea of it being "family-friendly." Security staff were also incredibly rude and dismissive. My sister tried to join us on the beach with her young children after 9pm and was treated as if she was trying to sneak into a private party—despite being our guest and simply wanting to spend time with family. I later spoke to another vacationer who had a similar negative experience with security on a previous visit, and was told the staff had supposedly been replaced. Sadly, it seems the problem persists. Between the false advertising, lack of hospitality, and overall disrespect toward guests, I will not be returning to Shepard’s Beach Resort—and I wouldn't recommend it to others, especially if you're traveling with family or expect basic honesty and professionalism from staff.
