The Rockley by Ocean Hotels

Nice small hotel, lovely friendly staff who want you to enjoy your stay. Great location with lots of restaurants around. Although we had a small problem with our room, this was sorted quickly and we were moved to another room with a fabulous large balcony. Breakfast has everything you need, lovely comfortable beds and pillows, we stayed in a one bedroom suite.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it, especially for solo travellers. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. All the staff throughout the hotel were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made an effort to check in on me and have conversations, which made a huge difference as I was travelling alone. I felt very safe, comfortable, and well looked after the entire time. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. I even did my own little antibacterial wipe test (as I always do!) and everything was spotless, which really reassured me. Housekeeping were also excellent and very helpful. The location is perfect, and I loved the added touches like: • Pool and beach towels provided (no need to bring your own) • A daily token for a beach chair and umbrella, which was such a great bonus The food was fantastic, especially the breakfast — it was absolutely outstanding. Staff were also very accommodating with my nut allergy, which I really appreciated. I don’t drink alcohol, but the bar staff were amazing and happily made me mocktails on request, which were lovely. They were friendly, attentive, and made me feel included rather than limited by not drinking. What stood out the most for me was the overall atmosphere — the staff were chatty, warm, and genuinely caring, always making sure I was okay. Any small issue I had was dealt with immediately, which shows how well the hotel is run. As a solo traveller, this hotel made me feel: • safe • welcome • valued I would definitely stay here again. It’s a clean, friendly, well-located hotel with exceptional staff and service. This hotel truly made my stay in Barbados special. The level of care, cleanliness, and friendliness from the staff was exceptional, and as a solo traveller, that meant everything to me. Best Staff! One thing that can make or break a vacation is the experience with the staff. All my years dealing with the team never once have I had a bad experience. Thank you for having the best of the best in customer service.

My husband & I stayed here for a week after being on a cruise the week before. The hotel is small & friendly. A warm welcome at reception with the offer of rum punch or fruit punch for those that don't drink. A lovely touch. We had a one bedroom suite with a separate lounge & bathroom with a balcony overlooking the pool. There is also a kitchen area with a fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, teabags, coffee with milk creamer etc Theres also a tea towel & washing up liquid. Handy for those who prefer self-catering. We were bed & breakfast though & therefore had a nice variety to choose from. There's juice, tea, coffee, porridge, cereal, fruit, yoghurt & 4 hot foods that changed daily, along with an egg station for omelette, poached or fried eggs, etc. We dined out most nights as there's a great variety & different value restaurants nearby. We had the tapas at the hotel one night & that was really nice & good value. The drinks are reasonable too, especially if you catch the 2 happy hours 12 till 1pm & 6 till 7pm. There is plenty of transport to get around on & if you flag down the boogie buses, white minivans with a dark red stripe, they cost 3.50 Barbadian dollars & take you pretty much anywhere They are a bit shabby but an experience to behold but safe & great fun! There are also local buses & taxis all within distance of the hotel. The best part is that the beach is across the road from the hotel. It can be busy, but the vehicles passing usually slow down to let you cross. The locals are so friendly. Also, the hotel provides 2 vouchers daily for free sun loungers & an umbrella for the beach. You just hand them to the guy on the beach. In our case, we had Walter, who the hotel informed us to go to & he points out which to go to. The umbrellas are labelled The Rockly in bright yellow, so you can't miss them. The hotel also provides free beach/pool towels daily. We recommend a trip to Oistins, preferably on a Friday evening or over the weekend, as they have a fresh fish market with lots of eateries selling delicious fish meals of all varieties. It's also got live entertainment & a DJ playing all night. It's a great fun night out. St Lawrence Gap is close by & in the opposite way is Bridgetown. We just jumped on a bus to get to them. The hotel also has some fun entertainment nights with karaoke, singing, or a DJ playing good music. There is also a cocktail party one evening with free drinks & canapés for an hour. After that, you pay for drinks, but it's a nice relaxing atmosphere, enjoying a cocktail or a beer. The staff at this hotel are always smiling, friendly & helpful. Troy, in particular, makes sure he introduces himself & ensures all the staff are doing a good job. We really enjoyed our stay here at The Rockley & would come back in a heartbeat. Noisy main road next to hotel. Karaoke night twice a week 4 hours each, too loud & too long!! Pool bar staff very slow at times.

Lovely small hotel in a great location. There is plenty to do around the hotel - beach, restaurants, local shops. The staff are great and definitely go above and beyond to make your holiday special.

Great location, very near excellent restaurants and amenities. The beach opposite is one of the best on Barbados. Sun beds and an umbrella are included. Breakfast is varied and delicious, a wonderful start to the day. Troy’s tour is a must, he’s a fountain of information regarding the island, a lunch a rum punch are all included, all in all a perfect day out. What makes this place really special are the staff, a massive thank you to all of them for making our holiday extra special.

A lovely hotel on the south coast of Barcelona. Very comfortable, with spacious rooms and good buffet breakfast. Daytime and evening meals are also available in the outside well stocked bar. The staff are all very polite, helpful and friendly like most locals. A very consistent place to explore the whole island, with the sandy beach and azure sea just a short walk and the famous ZR busses outside the front door. The local and surrounding areas have plenty of shops and good places to eat and drink. This was our second time at The Rockley, we wouldn't stop anywhere else.

The Rocky is in an excellent location with very good free beach arrangements. The swimming pool is small and poor for swimming but the sea is close by. There are numerous very good restaurants within walking distance, the beach is lovely and buses run to Oustins and Bridgetown. It's a good location for a mixture of beach and exploring by bus. The staff are welcoming, friendly and professional. The room we had was superb, on the top floor overlooking the road to the beach and the sea. It had a nice verandah. There were always free-of-charge sunbeds available at the beach and by the pool. The breakfast buffet was limited but they cook great eggs to order. We found the dinner poor and pricey - better options are just a short walk away.

We stayed for two nights prior to a cruise. Lovely warm welcome where I had my first rum punch ever - and brownie points for offering a non alcoholic fruit punch option which The Husband enjoyed. Non drinkers are so often ignored. The hotel kindly gave us an upgrade from a Junior to a one -bedroom suite which was spacious with a beautiful living area and balcony. Not quite so keen on the bedroom which was at the back of the building and felt a bit confined. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a brilliant location, within walking distance of shops and restaurants and, of course, the beach which is pretty much straight over the road. Hotel guests get complimentary sunbeds on the beach. Breakfast was slightly chaotic with items on the self serve buffet running out but there was a decent choice and the staff were lovely. We ate outside, beside the pool. The one thing I would criticise is the standard of orange juice. Not good! We had a lazy couple of days and thoroughly appreciated the fact that we could use a hospitality room to shower and change before leaving for our ship. I recommend the PickUP Barbados app. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel but the menu looked good and there seemed a nice atmosphere at the bar.
