Pestana Miramar Garden & Ocean Resort

The Miramar is right next to the Village, which was perfect. We spent a lot of time between the two hotels. The indoor pool was great, especially when the weather wasn’t ideal, and we really liked the themed restaurants. A very relaxing stay all around.

Overall we had a lovely stay here. We had the upgraded suite but the furniture was really outdated. The tap had a slight leak in the kitchen and there was also an ant problem. The bathroom also constantly had a funny smell like there was an issue with the drains. The beds were really comfortable and our balcony was lovely. Manuel made excellent pina coladas and was such a lovely gentleman to have a chat with by the pool. He was so polite and kind. Abedel poncha session was amazing! Very good and very interactive. We had a great time. Lastly the cleaning staff were amazing and so polite. They took amazing care of our stuff and were very hardworking

We had breakfast next door at Miramar and it was a very nice start to the day. The food was good quality and there was plenty of choice, but the thing that caught my eye was the honeycomb on the buffet. I wasn’t expecting that at all and it made a big impression. It’s such a small detail but it really shows the effort they put into making the breakfast feel special. Having fresh honey straight from the comb is not something you see every day, and it honestly lifted the whole experience.

Had a poncha making experience with Abdel(honey) Absolutely brilliant, very interesting and extremely entertaining. Thank you Abdel for a fun afternoon.

The hotel may once have been deserving of its 4 stars but no longer. It’s is dated and tired and overdue a refit. The staff are lovely, pleasant, helpful a delight but the rooms are old the furniture scruffy and the menu in the restaurant makes no sense much of it is tasteless and the choices? When there are no children you feed adults fish fingers!!! It’s 2025 time to update the food please. A best it’s a reasonable 3 star rating but no higher even on a good day.

The apartment was spacious, clean ( cleaned every day) and very well maintained. Located near other Funchal hotels and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. About a 40 min walk into Funchal old town. Venue facilities were great with multiple pools and restaurants. Staff looked after us really well.

Visited with friends. We stayed at the Quintana Perestrello portion of the hotel. The complex is three hotels, but you have access to pools at all three no matter where you stay. The middle hotel is a lovely old, charming Manor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was quite good and very very reasonable.Convenient location to everything.

I think this just might be the best hotel I've ever stayed in! Everything was just as it should be. Really good facilities, clean and well-maintained, friendly and efficient staff, good food (half-board).....loved the red wine and cocktails, and the two happy hours (at Wetherspoons prices!) It was a real treat to be able to have two meals at locations other than the usual (lovely) buffet room, and that's included too! Towels are provided for round the pool. Plenty of sunbeds and nobody 'claiming' them with their own towels (it was a mature and quiet crowd). No music playing to ruin the peace (that's a huge plus point for me). Air-con & safe included. Just lots of little things that made our week annoyance free. Thank you to everyone at Pestana Miramar. Our next hotel has something to live up to.

My husband and I just returned from week at Pestana Miramar. It was our first visit to Madeira and had a wonderful time. Miramar was beautiful and loved everything. Location was close to center and easy to walk to restaurants, shopping and beautiful gardens. Buffets were great with something different each night. People were friendly and always willing to help with whatever needed. A special thank you to Fabio at front desk. He was always taking time to ask how our day was going and giving suggestions. Also, Delta in housekeeping was wonderful. Hope to return and would recommend Miramar to all.

At Miramar we probably had the best breakfast we’ve ever had at a hotel. We’re both lactose and gluten intolerant, and still there was no shortage of options. Plenty of variety, all delicious and high quality. Starting the day that way felt like a real treat.
