Knights Inn Mount Airy

Loved our stay here, would come back anytime

Last minute stay while traveling through Mt. Airy. We had a very good stay, especially for the price. We liked being able to park right at the door of our room, no stairs. The room was very clean, no carpeting, which is nice in an older motel. The bathroom looked newly remodeled. The only negative was the comforter was a little worn, but the sheets were crisp, clean, and very white. If ever here again, we would definitely stay here.

I did not like that the pool wasn't working but online is not updated. 😞

It was quiet but im guessing that is because it didn't have a bunch of people staying there.

When we got there we noticed the pool was not open, not sure why but it had a cover over it. There was a leak under the sink around the walls, the frig was dirty in the bottom, headboard on the bed was dirty, some of the towels were stained, under the microwave was nasty.

We found this property on a recent trip. We had to stop for the night because we were so tired. It was a little later in the evening but the manager was very nice and accommodating. Our room was clean, quiet and losts of hot water. We would definitely stay here again

The room and everything in it were clean and functioning. The bed was extremely comfortable. The gentlemen at check in were personable and very welcoming without being concerning. The value was perfect. The fridge was large enough to actually put a bottle of wine and my salad in and actually kept the food cold. I'm going to mention the bed again because the mattress and pillows were perfect. I truly had a great night's sleep. Just what I needed to make for a relaxing experience.

The door keys are actual keys for handle and deadbolt. They were difficult to turn. The bathtub had a bit of a sloped floor that made me a bit nervous. Some things in the room showed their age but it was purely cosmetic. Nothing at all concerning. The cost was half that of Comfort Inn and less than half the Hampton Inn. I'm fine with things being a bit worn for a clean room at that price.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, my family wasn’t able to check in on the night we had booked. Wanting to be courteous and avoid being a “no-show,” I messaged the hotel through the booking app, which said someone from the property would follow up with me directly. Days went by with no response, and then I noticed we were charged for the night. When I called the hotel to inquire, the gentleman I spoke with was surprisingly aggressive. He curtly explained that they don’t offer refunds—regardless of whether you show up—because “it’s a business.” I tried to explain that families budget carefully for vacations and that it would’ve been helpful to at least receive some communication. He seemed annoyed and dismissive. I would not recommend Knights Inn in Mount Airy, NC based on the poor customer service alone. A little empathy and professionalism go a long way, especially in the hospitality industry.
