Americas Best Value Inn-Mojave

This is definitely a 2-star hotel. I understand it was Mojave, and expectations are not very high, but it was more run down than I expected. The AC unit worked great and its noise drowned out any other sounds that may have been coming from outside the room. Thought there was no hot water in the shower until the staff told me the hot and cold were reversed. Would have been nice to be informed of that at time of check in - or at least should have a sign in the room with that information.

Quiet, clean.

Old dilapidated fixtures. Pre-school sized toilet. TV would not turn up or down. If you just need a place to sleep it is OK

Great location, friendly staff, nice pool. Loved it here !

we had bugs in our room. My daughter woke up with a bug on her face. I had bug bites on my arms and legs. I won't be staying here again

I LIKED THAT THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, BUT I DID NOT LIKE THAT THE REFRIGERATOR AND COFFEE MAKER DID NOT WORK.

We stayed at this motel in 2016 and it was pleasant. Now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We arrived yesterday to be met with scruffy ,unkempt patrons drinking beer and smoking outside their rooms all the while yelling to their mates on a different floor. I had to wonder if these were homeless or drug dealers. The pool area is scruffy and peeling paint. The flower beds are overgrown and littered. The communal trash bins overflowing and the whole site is neglected and untidy. The first room we were given we had to wade through discarded cigarettes butts outside the front door. The guests in the next room were so noisy my husband asked for a different room. We were given one down the hall which was marginally better. The streaks of feces wiped on the tiles and walls in the bathroom was disgusting. The bath was filthy and the bath mat very, very slippery. The coffee maker had no filter or jug. We did manage to get a jug from manager but it didn't fit. So unusable. We went out at 10pm to watch the stars to be met with a drunk laying across the walkway drinking whiskey from a bottle. When we returned around 12am we were treated to loud club type music till after 2am from another room. This coupled with the people in the room above us exercising or pacing the floor at 6am for over an hour meant very little sleep. In the morning my husband spoke to a middle aged gentleman in the office to ask if we could have an extra hour to check out as we were shattered. He agreed after first of all saying we had to pay an extra $20. He later relented and said it was fine at no extra charge. However at 11.15 we were greeted by a thug being very threatening shouting at us to "get out" and would not listen to my husband who was trying to explain we had permission to stay till 12pm. He just kept shouting "you get out 11 o'clock" Overall this was a most unpleasant overnight stay which we will not be repeating.Thank you for ruining my husband's birthday.

Too many suspicious looking people roaming the parking lot around the vehicles. Did not feel safe leaving the room at night due to this and drug deals going on right below our room. Staff could not speak or understand English very well. Also, their website needs updating as I was not expecting to pay an extra $30 for my 3 small dogs to be in the room. The website only said pet friendly and the property also does not have a pet area only the parking lot or behind the building where it appears a building had burned down and is littered with trash and other debris and suspicious looking people hanging out there. Mojave in general is not a place I ever plan to stay again and definitely not this motel.

Didn't like how the staff there didn't speak really good English, had 1 person running the front desk when there was another guy in the front desk area too who could have checked me in. Found other guests things in the fridge which is gross, the Wifi didn't stay connected either and had someone try to break into my room while i was there too!
