Dunalastair Hotel Suites

This visit was unique. Beautiful modern hotel that is incredibly under staffed. Restaurant was good, but again, under staffed. I think there is/was an ownership transfer recently. Additionally, it is not in Pitlochry. It is 20-30 minutes west. Beautiful area! Small town on the loch with trails, a bridge and a cool waterfall. Over, a good visit.

The hotel was fabulous and the staff could not be faulted for their professioalism, friendlieness and helpfulnesd. Best place we have stayed in the whole of scotland.

Fantastic fantastic fantastic, I stayed at Dunalastair Hotel at the weekend for 2 night stay with my wife. I was Greeted by manager Aftab Malik, who could not have done any more to make our stay feel very comfortable. The staff were very friendly as well as Aftab. The food was very tasty and the portions were large. Over the years I have stayed at many hotels in the Perthshire area and find the Dunalastair hotel one of the best, modern, and comfortable hotels in the area if not thee best. I have heard the hotel is in administration and feel very sad , but despite of this I cannot find a fault in this modern hotel and the staff, I wish all the best in the future of the hotel and will be staying again in the very near future. We had a suite for one night for 3 of us, and it was just what we needed after a day's cycling. The concept was perfect for us, 2 rooms and sofa bed in the living area at a reasonable price. There was a delay checking in, but that was because our payment hadn't gone through - perhaps a problem with the company booking system. The sofa bed was broken, and once we told the staff, they could not have been more helpful & considerate in sorting this. We seem to have hit the jackpot - the chef just started and gave us a fantastic cooked breakfast. OK, be prepared for somewhere that might not be out of place in a city centre, and a bit sterile. Not a highland hotel as you might know it, but good facilities in a relatively remote place. A bit suprised at the £100 returned deposit for damages - not come across this before.

Arrived for a friends birthday Was quickly checked in and asked to pay. After paying we were told there is no restaurant available and possibly no bar due to hotel going into administration. Due to the location there is no other options around for food so we asked for a refund. This wasn’t possible. Thankfully after a lot of back and forth with the hotel, I was issued a refund.

Shambles of a hotel run by Teenagers. Bed linen not cleaned from previous guests. Totally unacceptable for a 2 star hotel. Reception apologised as they were not able to clean rooms properly after Saturday guests had left. This is a terrible place. Soulless bar and dining area. Staff issues result in an experience to forget.

Lovely place to stay, only thing they don’t tell you is it is £100 a night that you get back after your stay.

This hotel is in the hands of the receivers which we didn’t know. Stayed here several times before and this time booked the Winter Retreat package which included a full Scottish breakfast. However, there was no cooked breakfast, no dinner available for anyone and no bar at all! Not quite what one would expect from a 5* hotel! Very disappointing and most unsatisfactory not to have been told about the situation in advance even although we booked only the previous day direct with the hotel. Shocking!

The hotel was a jewel in Scotland, very well laid out and the room was amazing. I would definitely stay here again.
