Courtyard by Marriott Somerset

The visit started very well with the person at the front desk.. she was the most welcoming person I ever encountered at a Marriott hotel

In the middle of the night (approximately 2 to 3 am) there was a VERY loud disturbance in the room next to us. Loud shouting, etc. So much so I called the front desk, who said someone would check. It eventually stopped. When I mentioned this checking out, I was told there is no night security and I should have called police. Are you kidding me, I should call police NOT the front desk,! Secondly, though we would could connect to WiFi network we could not get access to internet.

Its an older hotel, that Marriott is trying to renovate, however being an older build still left a lot to be desired. Two small old elevators, one was broken the weekend we visited, and the second one was very slow and often stopped with a warning buzzer. The hotel was hosting wedding guests with lots of luggage, which made moving luggage up and down quite difficult. One of the rooms in our group, found dried blood, or maybe cranberry juice in the sheets. We came back from a wedding in the evening on Sunday, Monday morning we found out they were shutting the water off at 10 am, when most people are getting ready and checking out. However had to show the staff video that the water was shut off much earlier then that, and most of the people in our party couldn't shower, The video was because the staff argued that the water wasn't shut off yet. Seems like the owner is trying to run the hotel as cheap as possible without any quality. I"m a Platinum Elite member, Marriott is my preferred hotel brand, but this was the worst one I've stayed at.

The beds were comfortable

The water would cut off in the middle of the shower, after a long day of working I’m showering and the water just shuts off! Not just my shower also my partners shower! When I called downstairs they said they have been having problems and to turn on all the water in the room ? And that should help … very inconvenient for the price

Pool is warm

Waken up at 5 due to malfunctioning boiler and fire alarm. Water was shut down in the middle of my shower so I didn’t get to complete showering. Staffs were a little bit confused and couldn’t find my reservation so he told us the place was booked. I had to call again to speak with another staff and she was able to confirmed our room was available. On the check out date, I was going back and forth between 5th floor and front desk to ask for help, 4 times, because their keys decided to not open our door. She had to send a staff up to open it, so it was a good 30mins waiting at the room just to gain access to get the rest of our stuffs to leave.

Fire alarm went off at 4:45 AM - first experience of that! Only one elevator worked days before that. The one that worked was very slow. Room was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was not included.

I book king size bed with sofa bed and they give me the disable King size only

The shower did not work, and neither did the hot water. The room door was "open" at the bottom. The pillows were Very uncomfortable.
