The room, shower and tub we're dirty still with hair from the last person. Very dusty room. Cabinets were not wiped off.

The location, the layout of hotel and how perfect ot was for young kids

Great location- not terribly far from the airport, and a reasonable distance to places like La Jolla and the zoo. Service was decent. We didn’t have housekeeping on day 1 and they gave us only one coffee cup. The balcony door kept sticking horribly and the kitchen sink backed up even though we didn’t do anything to cause it. The restaurant was excellent service (BUT VERY EXPENSIVE!) and when we asked someone for more towels we were able to get them. Check in was fast and friendly. I would say the decor is in need of updating. My son says “it’s stuck in the 90s.” While I can appreciate they’re going for a Polynesian look, it’s really a lot of faux bamboo and wood accents and outdated design. Also- and I can’t stress this enough- MORE OUTLETS AND USB PLUGS! There were hardly any and that didn’t cut it for our party of 3 that had charging needs. Although dated, everything was very clean. Rated a 4 because of expense versus the issues we did experience- not a perfect score but would not hesitate to recommend it.

Location and property grounds were beautiful. Lobby, bar, and the outdoor dining areas were all nice. Pool was clean and the arcade was fun for our teenage son. I appreciated the pool side room and balcony.

Rooms are a bit dated and for the price of the room, parking should have been included. There was a daily parking fee.

I loved the location both on the bay and walking distance to the beach! Restaurants and vacay vibes were amazing. Location was convenient for visiting sea world, zoo, Coronado, old town and beaches. Lots of local dining in walking distance.

Rooms need to be updated as you can smell they allow pets.

Betty in reservations absolutely made our trip! She was so accommodating with all of our changes we had to make. She was patient and kind and exactly how everyone should be working in customer service. 10/10 for betty thank you for a beautiful stay in a beautiful place!!! :)

Just said for two nights, post cruise before flying home. We have stayed at the Catamaran before, but not for for about twenty years. A few days before arriving my husband read some reviews on Trip Advisor complaining that the rooms were old and tired and to ask for a refurbished room. We emailed the hotel and we did asked and they came back confirming that we would get one. We arrived early and the room wasn’t ready so they stored our luggage and when we returned our room was ready and the bellman brought it to our room. The room was large and very clean with everything we needed, with a lovely garden view. Not ultra modern and a little dark but very comfortable. The staff are all very helpful and anything we asked for was brought to us within minutes. It was lovely returning here again after so many years to see the exotic birds are still there and the gardens are still as beautiful as ever. We left with lovely memories of the Catamaran.

La comida del restaurant era muy rica pero un poco cara, ahora la comodidad de no salir del resort era algo que se valoraba. Había spots para sentarse a tomar algo y relajarse con fogones en las mesas mirando la playa. También había una cafetería para llevar para comprar algo mas barato. El hotel tenía salida a la playa caminando y aunque no nos bañamos porque fuimos en febrero nos tocaron días fríos, se veía tranquilo como un lago. Alquilé bicicleta en un muelle del hotel y el paseo fue espectacular por la bahía y la playa. Volvería a San Diego me encantó y al mismo hotel.
