Hotel La Fonda de Taos

Love the location on the square for walking everywhere, coffee bar downstairs comfortable bed and Murphy bed! Staff is super helpful love that I can sleep w windows open at night! Beautiful old historic hotel!

The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The rooms all had unique character. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is right on the square, which is very nice for shopping and relaxing. The front desk person, mary, was extraordinary, and very accommodating and friendly. As far as the room, we were very disappointed in the size. Our room (410) was super tiny! There wasn't enough room to even open our suitcase! However, it was very close to the elevator, which took you to the first floor close to the back door where there is a wonderful patio that is lit up at night. And the parking is just steps away from the patio. Other than the room size, or stay was very nice, and the people were very friendly.

Historic location

The location was great, right in the center of the town. It was an historic building so was charming.

There was a smell in the room. We found a spider on the pillow. We were not able to lift the lever to start the shower.

I thought the location would be ideal and it was but that’s really it.

The staff wasn’t friendly, especially regarding their mix up with my room and reservation. I paid for an expensive room and they put me in a standard. If I hadn’t brought it up, they wouldn’t have said anything. I’m still unclear how much of a refund I’ll be receiving. They tell me it’s Booking.com issue and Booking says it’s theirs. The square in Taos isn’t safe. Lots of panhandling, people with mental illness and drug addicts. The middle of the night people were screaming. The hotel let all kinds of transients in the lobby, which was concerning as a guest. There was also a child probably about 7 yrs old begging for money. The whole experience was disturbing!
