It’s hard where to begin. This was perhaps our most disappointing hotel experience in several years. Our room, which the front desk described as “an upgrade to a very nice executive room with an excellent view” turned out to be a small, oddly shaped room on the first floor overlooking an active and loud construction site. The television did not work. It was supposed to be replaced while we were out at dinner. The technician came an hour after we returned from dinner and verified it did not work. So no working television. The lights and other electrical did not work properly. Perhaps it was related to the tv. The light switch next to the bed turned off the bathroom light but left the bed light on. And the “master off” turned off some but not all of the lights. In other words, anything associated with electricity did not work property. The M Club Executive Lounge was regularly littered with dirty plates, glasses, banana peels, etc. during non-Happy Hour times (it’s open 24 hours but apparently only cleaned for the 5:30pm happy hour). The breakfast was ok but not consistent with a full service city hotel. Better than a Residence or similar value Marriott property but not good enough for a €350+ property. And while the front desk staff are pleasant, they didn’t seem empowered to solve any of these issues. As a lifetime platinum member I’ve stayed hundreds of different Marriott properties so it’s apparent to me when a property is “off.” This one is.

Location

Hotel is right at the center of everything. It is also surrounded with restaurants, bakeshops and chocolate shops. It is also 5 mins walk to the Grand Place, a very well nice plaza in the area
