Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston - Mount Pleasant

Close to different restaurants. All within walking distance! Breakfast was nice. Quiet place. Beach is 5 minutes away

We were supposed to be staying 4 nights in the room, albeit on two separate reservations. Two on points, two paid. We were originally given rm. 219. After returning from dinner we discovered the heat would not work and the ice machine was inoperable too. Although the temperature never got above 68 in the room that night we made the best of it until morning. The next morning we planned on cooking breakfast in our room, but when we got out the cookware it was in such bad condition that we didn't feel it would be safe to use! Then we called the front desk to report all of the problems and was told it would be taken care of, but when we returned later that evening the maintenance guy was still in the room and he was plugging up twp space heaters. Through his broken English we also ascertained that he wasn't able to fix the ice maker either. Again, we decided to make the best of it for one more night. Not 5 minutes after he left one of the heaters made a loud popping sound and quit working and it also knocked out the T.V. in the bedroom and the other heater too! I managed to get one of the heaters working again on another circuit and called downstairs to let them know what had occurred. Since it was late we decided to stay in the room one more night and then move to rm. 221 the next morning. After we moved all of our belongings the next morning we discovered the cookware in that room was in worse shape than the previous one and the floor behind the bathroom door was filthy with hair and some sort of pink colored rubbish. All in all it was horrible stay and we do not plan to ever return to this location!!

Very friendly staff and great breakfast

If you don't have a dog, do not choose the 1st floor. We had barking dogs next to us and across from us. There was no other 1 bedroom available for us to move too. The room was clean and well laid out. Unfortunately not a peaceful stay whatsoever. Breakfast was minimal.

Room was clean and spacious. We only stayed one night so didn't use much of the facilities. Breakfast was ok. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Elevator was very slow. Everything else was great.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, 426. Overall room was clean and comfortable. Light bulb in one bathroom was burned out and was promptly replaced. As soon as we arrived in the room we turned the ice maker on. After several hours it never made ice. Went to lobby to report and was told ice makers were slow. They provided a bucket of ice which lasted the rest of our stay. When we checked out after 2 nights, still no ice. We reported when we checked out. We have stayed at a Homewood Suites in the Lehigh Valley in PA several. When planning this trip those stays heavily influenced out choice here. Breakfast at the Mount Pleasant was nowhere as good as the one in PA. We ate around 8AM on both mornings so not near the end of breakfast time. Cold eggs, hard biscuits, little in regard to fruit.

Location and room size.

Hotel has deferred maintenance which needs to be addressed. Staff did not seem to care about issues with fire alarm and leaking toilet. Never came to fix either.
