Star of The Lakes

I have been traveling most weekends for five months now and this is the first hotel that had a security guard on staff. It made the hotel feel like it was an unsafe place to stay. Additionally, the first room that I checked into was actually occupied. Another first in all of my travels. I also woke up at 6:00AM to a couple having a domestic dispute in the parking lot.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and quiet.

Everything was great pretty much. Love the jacuzzi tub since my purpose was a 25 km run! Staff was very friendly and let me have a late check out after the race! The ONLY problem was the bed above my room had the loudest squeaky bed springs ever. Told the staff in the morning and they said they would get on it. All good! Will definitely stay again next year!

Staff said the wifi wasn't working but actually the problem was i had the wrong password. Didn't like having to show id at check in.

Staff was not overly friendly. Lobby had a bit of a “smoke” smell.

Hotel is very outdated, check in staff was super slow ( check out was perfectly fine) no soap in the bathroom, was charged for a 2 queen bedroom and stayed in a single queen room. Would have been ok if our original room choice was not avail but there was no communication. Luckily this was one night stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

Friendly staff but not helpful. No shower curtain, hand soap or shampoo when I arrived. Tried to call front desk but telephone didn't work as it didn't have a cord. They came with shower curtain but didn't return with soap or phone cord. Air conditioning was extremely noisy.
