We didnt realize that Grotto experience is not included in the stay.

My family and I rented 3 rustic stand alone cabins for 2 nights to celebrate birthdays in December. The children enjoyed the pool, basketball court, play structure and playing on the beach. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We ate three meals at Cedars Restaurant and everyone enjoyed their food, as well as the great service we received.

In my opinion, this resort is not worth the price. The log cabin suite we booked was comfortable and well appointed. However, we were disappointed that the much advertised Grotto Spa was an additional $115 on top of the already sizeable room price. The resort’s regular pool and “hot tub” we used is dated and inadequate. We were expecting an experience similar to what we had at Halcyon Hot Springs. Much better value IMO. Cannot recommend.

Amazing resort in a forested setting and by the ocean , great staff, delicious meals at the Cedar Restaurant and the Tree Top above the fantastic Grotto Spa !!! The Spa bungalows are super comfortable and quiet, 10/10, thank you !

It was a perfect stop for one night to break up our drive from Tofino to Victoria so we could explore every day. Beds were comfy, the was plenty of hot water. The tea in room was great to have caffeine free options and we loved sitting by the fire on the couch cushions after we pulled down the Murphy bed. The proximity to the pool was also ideal - it was a 30second walk from the door of rm 105 in the Jedidiah lodge. We also had dinner at Cedars which was very good indeed.

We would have liked a better lock to secure the room from the inside while we slept - we put chairs in front of the door as there was only a thumb turn knob. The fixtures in the bath and kitchen were quite dated. And the mechanism on the curtains made it difficult to close them to get out all the light. But we would stay again for a one night stay for the comfy beds, plentiful hot water, and access to pool. Also we did not realize that we needed a reservation for breakfast at 9:30am if we did not want to wait an hour to eat, but were given the lovely suggestion of Serious Coffee just a short 2 minute drive away that was scrumptious & had quick counter service.

My friends and I recently stayed two nights at this resort. We had a room on the 3rd floor with an ocean view. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessities and the beds were comfortable. When we checked in, they advised us that there would be no housecleaning during our stay due to staff shortages, but if we needed anything we could fill out a form that was in the room. We did expect to see a few more items in the room, but when we looked at the list, those items were not listed. We did visit the grotto spa and I was a bit surprised how small it was after seeing the pictures. A bit deceiving. It was very busy and we found ourselves waiting to get into other areas to enjoy the whole experience. The staff at the spa were great. After our stay, I contacted the spa by email with a few observations before I wrote this review. A chance to explain some of our concerns/observations. All observations were explained and we received great feedback and apologies. They sent passes for the grotto spa for another visit during the week days. We would go back again, but it would be a weekday visit.
