Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort

I have been doing an annual girls spa get away for 17 years and would never go anywhere else. The atmosphere and service is above all. I have tried other spas but continue to stay loyal to Tigh Na Mara The way we are treated is exceptional. The staff is always so kind and go out of their way to make sure you feel pampered. Highly recommend

I've stayed at this resort many times over the years. There is lots of choice in accommodation and handy to Parksville for a few groceries and change of scenery. They have seasonal specials that I usually take advantage of . The location make this an easy drive without having to head to the west coast in winter weather for a getaway. We took in the mineral pool , sauna jacuzzi tub and an appetizer by the fire. A nice treat!

They quoted me one price charged me another refused to fix it. The hotel value was absolutely not worth $200 a night. I was quoted 209 for the Valentine special got there and they want to me 315 saying that there’s no way I was missed quoted that I misunderstood their employee. Even though I had verified on three separate phone calls that it was 209 including the valentines package of roses chocolates wine. My husband and I live 15 minute drive away. We would’ve just driven home after our spa day, if I would’ve known that, they were trying to charge me more. At check in the gentleman didn’t know what to do. So he told me to just take the room and don’t eat the wine and chocolate maybe they can help you the next day. The atmosphere in the room was OK. The wooden fireplace was great, but the room itself was really bland and half redone walls the view out the deck was horrendous. I was looking at a tennis court and work vans point of my husband and I renting a room less than 15 minutes from home was for the valentine special for our wedding anniversary to getthe wine and the chocolates. I didn’t want the room without that and I had to return it the next morning to get that hundred dollarsback. Again when I called on three separate occasions at booking, I verified what was included for the 209 and they didn’t wanna do anything to help me with that instead they took the bottle of wine and chocolates and just charge me the 209 for the room. The room is not worth $200 in the slightest maybe 100. I’m so pissed off. I’m gonna make sure everyone knows how horrible of an experience I have because the staff the next morning didn’t even try and rectify it by saying you know what I’m so sorry for the mixup you can take the wine and chocolate with you home that would’ve even made it better but now they took the wine and chocolate back and just said sorry for the mixup. Have a great rest of your day. I work in customer service and I know that this is an absolute horrendous level of experience and I will never be coming back here maybe not even coming back to the grotto tap as which my husband when I come back to at least four times a year so they lost some big tippers and it’s really unfortunate that because two staff couldn’t make a customer feel better about a mixup from their employees that they’re gonna lose a regular customer. I have friends and family who go and I told them this experience and they are all no longer coming as well so they are losing at least a dozen regular customers. On the good side, the grotto the spa and the tapas were perfection and I’ve never had a bad issue or customer service on that side so maybe they should have their hotel employees train there.

The pool and hot tub (not in the spa) were wonderful. A very nice option if you don't go to the spa. We likely wouldn't have stayed at Tigh na Mara if we couldn't swim.

It was difficult to adjust room temperature and work the tv.

We stayed in a forest log cabin and were very comfortable. All the amenities were there. The heat pump kept things warm and cozy. The restaurant was lovely, food delicious and great servers who really went out of the way to be obliging. The Grotto experience is worth every penny. They take such good care of everyone, very professional, and it is so unique. I will look back on the facilities, cleanliness, food options, and staff fondly. Even my husband loved it, and it was out of his comfort zone until he actually relaxed and had a great time. Highly recommend Tigh-Na-Mara!
