Terraza Del Pacifico Hotel

This is an old hotel, and if it was not for the location, I would have left. Run down and dirty rooms, and super unfriendly staff. We arrived at 2, and we were hoping to use their pool but they refused to give us towels until check in time (3pm). Staff at reception make no effort to help guests, and they are not busy because the hotel is pretty much empty. I also wished their breakfast was buffet and started earlier. We had tour plans early in the morning and they did not start serving breakfast until 8:00 am. In addition, the service was extremely slow, and staff just not friendly. Really don't recommend this place.

We did not end up staying there - we showed up and it was not as described or pictured.

Upon early arrival staff was incredibly rude and wouldn’t let us access the beach through the hotel even when there 2 babies. In the room we found rat feces and could hear the inside the roof, plus two massive cockroaches welcomed us. Breakfast was unimpressive and lunch and dinner had ridiculously high prices. I would expect some compensation given the health hazard this hotel represented for the my young children.

This is a tough one....We really enjoyed our stay here, especially compared to other hotels we saw or went to (went to a wedding in the area and visited friends staying elsewhere). Location is terrific - right on the ocean. You can't swim at high tide (water reached the hotel, too rocky, violent, and rough). But you can just fine at or near low tide. Beautiful, and sound of waves all day and night. The restaurant IS open (contrary to some reviews). It has somewhat limited hours (B - 8a-10a; L - 12p-2p; D - 6p-9:30p). Have to say - the food was OUTSTANDING. BUT -- - very high priced for Costa Rica!! Dinner entres - $18 to $35US. Lunch - $8 to $25US. Great breakfast included with eggs to order. Mixed drinks are ridiculous - $8 to $14 EACH (example-vodka or rum and orange). But beer is only $2.70US. At 9:30p - whole place essentially shuts down - no bar, pool, anything. So evenings are boring at the hotel. It has two pool bars, but they only open on weekends (why? - people are on vacation, not just on weekends). The place is not well kept up. Needs repairs. But nothing major or eyesore. They are working on the rooms. Think Motel 6. Beds comfortable. Rooms very clean. Minimal parking area. Overall, we'd stay here again for the price, but they don't try very hard to make it an exciting stay, or a place to rave about. BTW - TERRIFIC car rental at SJO airport - VAMOS. No insurance rip-off, wonderful people, fast shuttles, etc. Real find.

Broken shower leaked all night, this was a pain and the condition of the rooms looks old and require achitecture maintenance. The door locks are rusted and old. The restaurant and bar service is gold, they understand the client's needs however still expensive we end up paying $40 for 2 beers and 2 bar snacks, We understand the food wasnt bad however is still bar food, is not gourmet or anything fancy. Next time we plan to leave the place for dinner and drinks, and not consume anything here. Checkout process is not that smoooth as we wanted to we had to wait in lobby. Even when the checkout is at 1pm, very convenient for us, we had to wait until they finish to check if everything was fine (aka, people dont steal items or beak things) which I understand however make us feel like we don't trust in you. Guys change your way to review the room and don't treat the customer as a "needy tower stealer". We visited the place on Monday and of course the reason for this is because I been there on weekends and is louder and crowed and we wanted some peace. If you're thinking on visiting this place avoid weekends if you want some relaxing time.

Dated hotel but clean. Beautiful area to eat overlooking water

Very clean and nice place where you can surf at the beach or at the pool just relaxing and have a great time and at 5 mins from Jaco

staff is not nice. breakfast is until 8am and the food is not even good.
