Chesapeake Beach Resort

We stayed 4 nights at this resort for a quick getaway. I know it wasn't peak travel season (mid April), but there were times we felt like we were the only people at the resort. The beach area is perfect for lounging and the pools were wonderful! Our breakfast was amazing -- the omelets were huge and delicious! The location was perfect - right on the ocean side and with amazing views - and close to Publix for supplies and multiple restaurants within walking distance. I would not hesitate to book again.

Probably my 5th stay there over many years...always for bonefishing down keys from there. Chesapeake just keeps getting better and better, and it started out quite highly rated. More and really nicely redone rooms, nice amenities, the freshly cooked breakfasts are a delicious morning treat! And my dog is welcome too. Simply put just a delightful place to stay for a week or even longer.

Clean, new room. Surrounding - beach, pool, amazing views, especially sunrises. Breakfast was ok, but miss sth green or vegetables, or cheese/ham. Many things to do incl. Cornhole, kayaking, paddle, fishing and many other.

Poor beds - too narrow for 2. Uncomfortable materaces and cushions unabled us to sleep comfortably. A lot of noise from the street. High price in general.

Great location, excellent breakfast (chefs Chris and Jose were exceptional!). Loved the amenities and the beach area.

We had a 2 double bed garden view room. The biggest disappointment was the lack of storage. It's almost as if the hotel is not prepared for vacationers staying longer than one or two nights. The room has only two small drawers, few hangers and no storage space in the bathroom at all. We were there for 5 nights as a family of 4 (2 adults and two kids). Not being able to unpack was the biggest disappointment, and for that reason alone we will not be choosing this resort for our next trip to the Keys.

My wife and I had reservations for a two-night stay March 23. Unfortunately, my mother passed away a few days before that, necessitating that we cancel; I called on March 20 to inform the resort. Despite my prior notification, though, Chesapeake informed Booking.com that we were “no-shows.” (I provided Booking with a true account of what happened). Only after repeated calls and emails over the course of the next week by us and Booking.com did the resort authorize Booking to give us a refund but it was a partial one of $527 out of $944. I asked Chesapeake out of common decency due to our family tragedy to give us the rest of our deposit, $417. They declined.

Perfect location in Islamorada with nice views of the water. The pools were lovely and water warm and the tiki bar and lounge chairs facing the ocean made relaxing easy. Service was good and the rooms and grounds very clean. The free breakfast with made to order omelets saved us driving to restaurants in the morning and there were a lot of options like fresh fruit and yogurt and bagels.

Variety of things to do. Everything was very clean.

Honestly doesn't show great from.the road. Simple check in with a complimentary glass of champagne. We rounded the corner and saw a beautiful setting. Our room was spacious and clean with beautiful views of the ocean. The salt water pool was very nice. Plenty of chairs on the beach. A breakfast was included with an omelet bar and pancakes and French toast, as well as a full continental breakfast. All the staff was very helpful and friendly.
